AN in New York is an anime channel "On Demand." Which means that you have to pay for each view of anime that you see. Um..... my friend had iO (digital cable) and it's on channel 129. I'm not sure about what it is in NJ or PA but it's pretty cool in NY. They have a pretty good selection of anime and it costs less than having to buy everything on DVD or VHS.InSaNe KeYbLaDeR wrote:AN?!?!? AN!?!?! HOW COME I'VE NEVER HEARD OFF THAT STATION!?!?!?! GO NATIONWIDE!!!! I WANT TO SEE YOU!!!!! Plus CN probably sucks compaired to AN. Hee hee hee. And no they can't sue.
Anyway..... I didn't know that CN was suing AN. That makes absolutely no sense. It's not like all CN shows is anime. The only thing AN would show is anime... hence the name "ANIME network." (even though most of the business they get is from the anime watchers.... BUT STILL!!)
well....... i hope they go nation-wide. ^^
luvvies

As far as I know, AN only shows titled owned by ADV, is this true? If so,then CN (and I'd add TechTV, but this matter in no way really affects them) can still get ahold of titles.

For those interested in AN, go to Anime-Network's website.
You can enter your zip-code then give them information that they'll send to your cable/satellite provider. They handle all the mailing, faxing, calling, etc. You'd be surprised how far a few phone calls and e-mails can go. Every little bit helps after all.
Also, I have a question. I'm guessing AN is all English dubbed rather than Japanese with subtitles right?

Of course they can. If someone can accuse McDonalds of making them fat, Cartoon Network can accuse Anime Network of stealing their name.AnimeGuy420 wrote:I just heard from someone that CN is going to sue AN, if AN goes nation-wide on cable. They are going to accuse AN of stealing their name. They can't do that, can they? I think that's a bunch of BS.

Anime Network is being sued for thinking they have the rights to Anything Anime!
this would Void Yu-Gi-Oh! . . IY . . and many other that CN has paid the Rights for - and THAT is what the law suit is about!
its not a clear-cut case of "we got it - haha" . . T_T
. as it stands today, AN has not paid any Royalties for the shows they have braudcasted; but I think the real question might be comething that AN might not be ready for - Buying ALL Rights to these series!!!!
. for a fee, I can show anything on my TV station and I can justify my COST on how many viewers which will be PROJECTED to have seen the show.
. if AN goes CABLE Nation Wide then this channel falls under Pay-Per-View; which AN does not want to become ~_~ . . and THAT brings everything back to CN again; because no one really knows if CN has Payed for these Rights tooo!
so . . what can CN do, to take the Focus-of-attention away from them???
