Why the hell is Funimation taking so long with One Piece!?

It's been half-announced, but everyone in the community knows FUNimation does indeed have the rights to OP. I'm not sure what the actual hang-up is, but they've got it.

Hell, one of their staffers at their booth / area at Otakon was dressed up as Luffy...

Speaking of which, I finally got through the scripted Arlong Arc from that site you gave me in IM, Amaranth. I'd only heard scant details from fansites and seen scattered episodes because Kazaa was being snooty.

Wanna know something that will get American fans really pissed?

When I was in Greece back in 2002, I turned on the TV on one saturday morning, and found Luffy staring back at me. Turns out One Piece was dubbed in Greek and released on Greek television quite a while ago. Its a good thing I can understand said language, and they managed to change every single character's name somehow, including the name of teh show, but otherwise its fairly faithful. The point, however, is that somehow a small european country that has no large anime fan base managed to snag One Piece before the US. Strange, no?

One Piece has already been released in a lot of countries. It's always the english-speaking ones that seem to get it last! I've seen OP sites in german too. (note: Usopp's name is changed to Lysopp. *giggle*)

Glad to know you're making good use of the site. And yeah, Arlong is evil. Not quite as evil as Crocodile though. Crocodile deserved to die more than Arlong.

Yeah. Here in austria we get german channels, and One piece is airing a few month now. It's not bad, and the dubbing could be better, but it's still OK. But I have no clue about if it's cencored or so...
