transformers is the oldest show i remember ever watching, but GI Joe took priority when i had to choose what to watch. and transformers doesn't seem like anime, so i don't consider it the first anime i watched.

First anime of which I ACTUALLY considered anime is either Ronin Warriors or Sailor Moon. I forgot which came first.

The first series I watched all the way that i thought as anime through was Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure Saw first 3 episodes on TV Tech, then just had to watch it (used Kazaa). A friend showed me half of Chobits before that, and of course there are all those shows like G-Force, Pokemon, Digimon that are watched as cartoons. So yes, the gateway dru... er show was Dual! and that show is nostalgia.

Well my childhood memories are a tad fuzzy, but I'd have to say the first I remember seeing was Sailor Moon around age 6 or so.

- Some kids' movie about chipmunks or squirrels or something (~1988)
- A short that I think was anime, "The Running Man," as part of MTV's Liquid Television (1993 or 94). I was like "OMGWTF that was weird. I like it."
- Vampire Hunter D (1994), which a friend brought over for vampire movie night
- All the stuff they showed on Saturday Anime on Scifi, like... Akira, Gall Force: Eternal Story, Demon City Shinjuku, Project A-ko

Pause for college, when I just had VHD and never watched it. I looked over the anime racks at Sam Goody and had no idea what would be good

- One tape of Ranma 1/2 that my then-SO bought
- AMG was the first anime that I went out and bought sight-unseen for the purposes of trying to get into anime. That was about 1999.

And then the rest.

It's amazing I stuck with it considering what I started with. :P

Toriton, Voltron and Thundercats aired way back in '84 I think. Speaking of Thundercats, does anyone have the ending soundtrack mp3 (the one without vocals)?

*Sniffles* I was walking alone one night.. and this show came on called Speed Racer.. and.. it followed me. I tried to run but it was on me and pushed me into an alley..

I begged for it to stop.. but :( It wouldn't listen and... forced itself onto me...
