There's no powering up for 3 episodes and talking for 9 episodes while the planet is blowing up (apparently only 5 minutes though...). I actually like the manga and have since I was a child like 15 years ago.

I liked DB and DBZ up till the end of the Freeza saga. After that it lost all forms of plot and originality. Most people hate DBZ for one of these reasons:
1. Lack of plot
2. Senseless Action
3. Hours of pointless screaming
4. "Watch next episode when Goku turns Super Saiyan ² (squared)!!!!!!!"
Its not that I really hate DBZ, it just angers me when I talk about anime and the only thing anyone ever talks about is DBZ. It just makes me want to shove some of my DVDs down their throats and tell them to watch more variety of anime. I hate that DBZ, Pokemon, and Sailor Moon are what anime represents in main stream America. *sigh*

The whole Dbz fanboy things seems to be dying down. Its not even televised anymore, all the fanboys have moved on to EVA, Inuyasha, Naruto, and Hellsing... But I know what you mean, fanboys = teh suckage. Personally the worst for me to deal with are the matrix fanboys, gah, they just... won't... shut... I don't know what version you've been watching (though I assume it was the FUNimation version) but in Dragonball Z they don't power up for more than a small while, and while Freezer is the true evil of the universe, his intelligence when it comes to things like time (especailly when it involves estimating how much power he has!) is extremely below average.dwchang wrote:Yeah what he said.SSJVegita0609 wrote:Read the manga, tis better

And Vegita, too right about me going on to EVA, although I never watched DBZ on TV so it's not like I moved to anything, it all just allways been there.
Look at all my trials and tribulations

Well you see, watching the *whole* thing is actualy a very large problem. Im not going to try and sound rude by dbz has to be the most incredibly fillerized anime i have ever seen. Some day i may check out the manga but thats only on the fact that when the series is good its good but when its not it 20 eps of filler and im hoping as many have said that the manga is a much more codenced version.SSJ_Mitsuka wrote:I still love Dragonball Z(the japanese version) and no other anime has hit my heart like this series..
I don't like when people say, "move on, Dbz is aweful, you're such a newbie to anime if you think that's the best series...their are WAY better things out there."
Not all dbz fans are new to anime, I've been into it for YEARS and yet dbz is still my favorite.
Well that's all I had to say, i'm just sick of everyone putting the show down, acting like it's nothing special. It lasted 12 years in japan and is popular worldwide, hell, it's been dubbed in almost every language you can think of. I know it'll never be forgotten..never ever...
Why do so many people in the world like it if it's such a HORRIBLE anime.. ? Like others have said, you really need to sit down and watch the WHOLE show before you can pass judgement.
Sure the fights last a long time.. but who cares? That doesn't ruin the series as a whole.. plus, if you REALLY KNOW the characters, the fights can be extremely fun to watch.. it never bugged me.. but I also don't watch the dub either.. Funimation ruined the characters, the fights, the heart.....and everything else in between.
Well I guess you can post here if you want, i'm expecting flames..lol..please don't, stay calm with me ok? Thanks, it's just my opinion.
If you are watching the japanese version i imagine its quite a bit better then the US one but i still wont believe that its up to par with other things ive seen. Everyone has their opionion though, just because you like it dosent meen you should be bothered by those who dont.

Eh, I don't even want to think about that Frieza fight - it's the reason I was anti-dbz (not vocally and rude like some, just against watching it personally) for nearly a year. And it wasn't just Frieza's estimate - the darn english dubber kept saying "the planet will below up in 5 minutes" one episode, "in 2 minutes" the next, etc. Blagh. >.<
But to go off topic a hint, I wish dbz had some sort of remastered version - namely the animation. While the Buu saga and thereafter had less plot (not as good anyway), the animation is *much* better than the previous sagas. I'm a visual 'fan-girl' so I find the early dbz animation style to be very lax, sketchy at best. I'm one of those who like the series for the 'wrong' reasons - animation style is only second to the characters for me. But I hold it as a point in dbz's favor that I like it so much despite the animation - the characters have to be great to manage that with me. And character development is definitely a strong point in this anime.

Uhm....let's see...where and how to answer this. I seem to recall nearly 50% of the TV show being them babbling about power levels and powering up (which is all *NOT* in the manga).HeartbreakerByZep wrote:I don't know what version you've been watching (though I assume it was the FUNimation version) but in Dragonball Z they don't power up for more than a small while, and while Freezer is the true evil of the universe, his intelligence when it comes to things like time (especailly when it involves estimating how much power he has!) is extremely below average.
As for what version i've seen. Funimation? Yeah right. I saw Dragonball Z about 10 - 15 years ago in Korea when it was actually "new." So I'm fairly sure I saw it unedited or whatever. Then again, it was awhile ago so maybe I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure someone in here will support me and my claim about it though.
Also, you guys do realize the show is almost 20 years old right? I always found it amusing that a company could pick it up and turn it in the next big thing (again..it already was in Japan).

Re: I Still Love Dragonball Z!
I'm not bothered by people who don't like the anime. I'm bothered by people who attack me (and other fans) because *they* don't like the anime. And I don't think there's anyone on the org who can honestly say DBZ fans don't fall under attack in almost every anime debate there is. It's one of the biggest scapegoats I've ever seen. People can hate it all they want, but when they attack other people for liking it - that bothers me.Shun wrote:Everyone has their opionion though, just because you like it dosent meen you should be bothered by those who dont.
