I'd have to go with Prius on this one. The two Saber Marionette J moments mentioned. *sigh*

i would say berserk ending but the hole anime was action and i couldn't really find it to be the sadest moment. i guess it would have to be the almost last episode of tenchi
:spoiler warning:

when they make it seem like ryoko's dead, i didn't catch the last episode until the next time around i thought she had really died for like a year and i really am depressed by people who die because they helped and just gave too much of themsleves and in tenchi they really concentrate on the character building i mean thats basically the plot if you look at a certain way. so i felt a little closer to the tenchi girls which made thier pain worse than the pain of say corkus who i they really didn't focus on

FRUITS BASEKET SPOILER ALERT!!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

I was really upset with how badly Touru took the true form of Kyo's curse. She was always so happy and optimistic and to see her so... crushed was just really, well, sad.

Grave of the Fireflies... there is no sadder moment.

Other sad moments...

In Pompoko, near the end when they momentarily revive the past...

Cowboy Bebop 24 when Faye gets home...

Cowboy Bebop when Faye sees the Beta Tape with the lines "Don't lose me!"... a great double entandre.

In Fushigi Yugi - the Death of Nuriko

I can think of MANY emotional moments... but those are the moments that came to mind that were sad.

I want to see Grave of the Fireflies; a friend of mine said it was really sad.

Alfirin, who thought it was funny? ...And why??

Saddest moment I've seen so far would probably be in Fushigi Yugi, too, but only when (highlight if you don't mind spoilers, too) Nurikodies since I haven't seen all of it yet. Getting close tho!

Toward the end of Sailor Stars episode 6 when Chibiusa dies in Usagi's arms.

It was also really sad when Usagi found out that Mamoru was dead toward the end of the series. It's like... we as viewers could have already known he was gone since episode 7, but Usagi didn't know... so seeing her find out was just kind of shocking, really.

Cowboy Bebob session 26 when Spike dies but even sadder after the credits when it shows the quote "Your gonna carry that weight". It may not seem sad to someone who doesnt truely understand Spike, but for someone who does, well you know what I mean then.

I already posted, but as a correction to "Spike Spiegel757", the name of the series is "Cowboy Bebop", and it says at the end "You're Gonna Carry That Weight."
