i find anime intriguing, defiently the art style since im a artsy type person. I just find the animation superb. Also the plot lines of some animes are spectacular along with the character designs.

But to be exact, i watch anime or read manga just to have fun

(how do you pluralize anime, btw?)

The same way you would pluralize moose.

People like anime/manga for different yet similar reasons. Little kids are easily impressed by big explosions and fight scenes that never end. As they slightly mature they enjoy the BIG-BREASTS anime girls have to offer. Girls also enjoy the BIG-BREASTS anime girls have to offer, they see it as a form of escapism, and fantasize about being 'Pretty' and 'witty'. They enjoy seeing these 'beautiful' characters interact in ways they could never do in real life. *escapsim*

Big-breasts, small waists, healthy, cute, SUPER-OUTGOING-SUPER-COOL attitudes draw in nerds since they are the exact opposite in real life.
Thats why everyones all mean to Jessica Alba because she "personifies" their ideal anime character, (skinny, popular, hot, HOT, big breasts, WITTY, outgoing, sociable, HEALTHY, HOT,BIG BREASTS, etc) but they don't wanna see people "personify" their favorite characters because it reminds them that in real life they are abominations :)

I think the girls also enjoy it for the ability of some female characters to beat the crap out of the main male characters even though they're much more powerful.

ex:
ChiChi and Goku (DBZ)
Kaoru and Kenshin (Ruoroni Kenshin)
Kagome and Inuyasha (InuYasha)
etc, etc....

...while still becoming gooily submissive when anything important happens, in many cases. There are lots of individual exceptions, but I wouldn't point to anime in general as supporting hyperfeminist values all that much.

Um... :?

Not even close.

Big breasted anime females is right up there with abusive anime females and whiny weak anime females. They're all disgusting. Yeah, guys and some girls may fantasize about them, but don't try to make a generalization about it. I would still love anime if there were no females depicted, no romance ever - just fantasy, action, and drama - no giant breasted females, no big muscled (dicked for the hentai anime) males. I don't care for fanservice when it hits the extreme. Pretty much everything you said was as far off target as you can get. And since I'm an anime fan, that means your generalization is wrong because not one bit of it applies to me, or any of the female anime fans I'm friends with.

Best stories and overall audio/visual around. Nothing else even comes close to the characters, emotion, overall production, anything really, in anime.

ARgigiaytoma...

My 'generalization' Hits right on target, regardless of what you may think.. Maybe you are in denial or can't face it but deep inside you like anime because of how it looks and how it depicts its characters. There are barely any "normal" anime girls, they are all SUPER DUPER SPUNKY, and with their overblown attitude comes overblown physical features. They all look 'perfect' in a way.
Same applys to the guys, they are either SUPER SPUNKY or SUPER MYSTERIOUS both traits guys try to relate to, and with these amazing attitudes come amazing physical features. Thats why it appeals to people and they get so mezmerized by these characters because deep inside they wish they were that character, knew that character in real life.
This is just the character part of anime, I could go into plots, super exaggerated situations, and stories but I won't. OK? Thanks.
You are completely useless.
