Here are some rumors
the last one is funny, since the fans who made the choices have no idea who would be right for the role, which makes me wonder how much better the choices of the people not as familiar with eva will make(who are involved with the movie)
09th August 2003:
The EVA's will have a more organic look to them, their suits looking less metallic and having more a skin kind of rubber texture.
27th July 2003:
Hideaki Anno is not directing the movie. He will instead be concentrating on his latest project, "Cutey Honey".
26th July 2003:
Daniel Radcliffe, a.k.a Harry Potter, may be cast as the leading role, Shinji Ikari. Currently a lot of rumors, predictions and what-not is flying around as to who could play who. These are all rumors, nothing concrete has of yet been announced, confirmed or even hinted at by the companies involved. In conclusion, it is highly likely that Mr Potter will NOT play Shinji - as casting at this stage in the movie's production is utterly pointless.

Suggestion #01: Michelle
Shinji: Daniel Radcliffe // Kaji: Keanu Reeves // Misato: Virginie Ledoyen
Suggestion #02: Embrace Eva
Shinji: Colin Hanks // Gendo: Edward Norton // Asuka: Jessica Alba
On a personal note, I feel these choices are absurd - Keanu Reeves cannot act, thus he should not be invovled. Ed Norton is a great actor but he is NOT a Gendo, and Jessica Alba is too old and not Red. Virginie Ledoyen may look like Misato but I doubt she could pull off the character that she would have to portray. I can only think of one actress at the present moment who would fit any category perfectly and that is Emma Watson (aka Hermione Granger). Ginger, young and has the ability to play a pompous and loud brat - perfect.
