Then I usaly try to get all my money's worth by downloading three times the amount of anime I just spent money on.

Hehe, i like downloading anime too but it take time to do it. Sometimes the download rate is slow, sometimes its fast. But either way, its a heck of a lot cheaper than buying it. But i prefer buying the dvd because it is way better and less frustrating. I just download a part of a series and if i like it, then i will buy it.

Not having any money helps curb my spending habits...

I usually borrow the fansubs that a friend downloaded. If I like the series, then I buy various stuff of theirs (posters, scrolls, plushies, models, etc). If I really liked the series and think I'll rewatch/reuse the item, then I'll buy either the manga or the series or both. Thus far, though, my collection's really small--12 volumes of manga total, six dvds (of varying series), and one video. Of the actual anime, I only paid for two of the dvds myself--the rest were either other peoples' castoffs or gifts.

I get the whole series so that if i want, i can either rewatch the series all i want, make great quality AMV's, and i can become the proud owner of the series ...

I only buy an anime on DVD if I have already seen it and loved it, or if I know I'll like it (Gundam, I buy with out thinking). Except for once, I bought Virus Buster serge vol 1....
1: Because it was cheap
2: Because I saw the trailer and thought it looked cool.
I was a little dissapointed with the first DVD, but I figure if I can find the other two volumes cheap I would buy them.

replace the ".oo's" with a ".00" and add a "$" and you get $80.00.

I saved about $230 for the anime convention in Boston last year. I spent every penny.

Nicely done, i would save up only for anime, but i also go paintballing and stuff like that so i cant spend it all on one thing. I guess its better that way, self discipline, it works like a charm, well sometimes anyways...
