gezz Hollywood is so weak... all they seem to be doing is ripping the old stuff from the 70s & 80s, and now there making a move on Anime... pff that’s just weak.... what happened to being original. :?

Speaking of live-action DBZ, has anyone seen the atrocious unofficial Dragon Ball movie? I think it was made in korea (might of been thailand, but I can't remember)

Well here's the Internet Movie Databases page.

Apparently, it might be called Dragonball Z: Unlimited.

Yeah, it's......bad.
IMDB page wrote:Runtime: USA:176 min
How can they have a runtime if the movie isn't finished yet?

Unless of course they finshed in secret!

Well, anyways, praying that it won't suck probably won't help, but unless of course a miracle happens.......yeah right

And just on a sidenote:

yes, hollywood is getting unoriginal, seeing as how everyother movie made today is based off some comic book.

If you have seen the last rumble in Matrix 3 , I think they could pull off a DBZ movie.

x2

plus, in that little link on the first page, the person said that 'we don't have it'

i think ppl are jumping to conclusions here and assuming that somehow this company is the only company/studio in the Fox (or whoever is eventually gonna consider making this movie(s)) world that is making this movie, it could be possible that they just called the wrong person

don't forget that just because someone pushes a broom in the Weta Workshop Main Office, that they know jack about Weta's future plans, same goes here, since we don't know who picked up the phone, we can't trust his knowledge, it's about as reliable as random internet searching

btw, i happen to like the X-men movies :P
yes they changed the specific story, but (most of) the main characters are there, and the concept of the show still stands true, so i think it's simply a way of interpretting what information is necessary and making sure to stay true to the point of the show/movie
and i think X-men 2 being the sequel, helped out a lot... a lot, plus it continues in the rough following of the original story line... very rough following

 , yeah, those come in handy, look, if fighting anime isn't ur cup of tea, don't watch it and don't bag on it, simple as that

no, i haven't seen the old unofficial dragonball movie, no i don't intend to pay money to watch it either, i'll just borrow or... find some way without paying  :D

yes, hollywood is mad ripping off of old comics, but i see it as a good sign
you know how we complain about most american cartoons not holding up to the 'realness' of eastern anime, well comics are western, and they're american, the fact that these are getting made into movies and enjoyed by a wide range of ppl, old and young, is a great move in the right direction

comic book=english equivalent to japanese manga
manga gets turned into anime/movies
comic books get turned into tv series/motion pictures

am i the only one seeing a link here?
i wonder if japanese complain about no new series being made, only studios making anime versions of manga stories everyone already knows?

That would be the best way. I ended up buying it on a spur of the moment kind of thing, and man did I regret it.

yeah, finding it isn't the problem, i know it's on the store shelves... oddly enough, but i also know how stupid it is, even if db-haters think db sux already, this movie's story is pretty sad from what i've read, but i did see a video clip of master roshi doing some weird dance and then attempting to fly on the nimbus cloud
d'oh! i mean i saw the turtle-man get on the cloud (don't know the cloud's fake name), almost forgot that since it's unofficial, they changed the names :?

is it at least funny?

btw ppl, db and dbz are not the same, so don't think it's right for people to say one and mean the other, there is a gigantic change in story-plot when you go from one series to another, so this is either a DB movie or a DBZ movie (doubt it'll have dbgt elements, there aren't even rumors) or it'll be a continuation of DB into DBZ, but if you see any sign of extra-terrestials, it's DBZ, not DB, note that in DB, goku is in fact from earth, not from planet vegeta as he is in DBZ
really old live-action db-dbz topic wrote: an extremely shortened version of DB that is only there to introduce the characters who will be battling in the DBZ universe against Saiyans.
i tried searching for it, but i couldn't find the old topic that addressed this issue somewhat and it had an entire plot-line layed out of what would happen in the 1st produced movie

last i heard, there wasn't even a director for this film yet... that's how you know that it's only for the money, when the film is done before the director is hired :?

I think the flying nimbus is just called something along the lines of magic cloud. And I have to say, it's more ridiculous than funny, like in the case of Turtle Man's dance. What's really sad is the movie's special effects. They're worse than a good amount of Godzilla films . . .

But anyways, i suggest seeing it at least once so you can at least talk to people about how bad it is.
