in the end, if people like american sitcoms then theirs no reason to tell them that it sux and try to convince them. same thing with anime. however, i do recomend that people broaden their horizons and watch film from as many different cultures and languages as they can get their hands on. i mean, you havent seen candid camera till you've seen the lebanese version, where they prety much go creative and realy anoying as they piss someone off till that person hits them. then after a hit or two they tell them about the camera. funny as hell, even if you cant realy understand what thier saying. oh and, on the flip side, if ya like scaring yourself shitless, go and hire a copy of das experiment (the edperiment, german movie that was released worldwide) and prepare to freak out like ya never have before.

MTV kinda copied that already, boiling point. Although they don't hit, I wouldn't find it extra funny or entertaining if they did. :?

Meh, I like what I like, despise what I despise etc.

I have no general bias against shows/music etc based on the country it's produced in.

As it happens, I currently think that anime > the crap they're putting on TV nowadays. I haven't watched actual 'tv' in ooooo....let's seee.....a year =/ I'm not even kidding. The only thing I ever hear about and see spamed are crappy 'reality tv' shows. I have yet to get addicted to a decent tv series =/

As for music, well I'm into all sorts, I listen to a lot of different languages, Japanese included, where I have no clue what they're saying, but I sing along anyways. It's just me though. If I like the sound, I'll listen.

As far as dubbing goes, well that's hard. Most of the time, if I like a dub, I can't stand what they've done to the story, (I present you with the dub of Cardcaptor Sakura, I actually preferred her dub voice, but I couldn't stand how they butchered the story, so I watch it subbed). Or I'll like certain dub voices but detest others, for example, I think the person who does Tohru's voice in Furuba is alright and suits her, but Yuki's voice just ruins the whole thing. Meh....

It just comes down to personal opinion. CaTaClYsM has his opinions in order. He pretty much singled out 90% of anime as crap, in his opinion. I happen to like DBZ and Inuyahsa. I'm not really big on people who rant on about things other people like being crap, thats a bit assholeish to me. They've got their opinions and all but thats just annoying to say what other people like is shit just cause they don't see it the same way. Anyway the point is in the first sentence. "I fell to my knee's and screamed "KAHN!" and demanded those hours of my life back which I spent watching the show." ....
I am the master of the three sentence review!

Hey, if you like DBZ, Inuyasha, or Pokemon you're free to. If you like having the plot spoon fed to you because you don't want to think for yourself, or because you can't pick up on subtext, you're free to do that too. Like you said, this is my opinion. I'm allowed to have it.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

its fanboyism, plain and simple. its the same reason that when AMF bought harley davidson in the 80s and put their little logo next to the harley logo, there was a huge drop in sales, even though they were the same bikes. people want something to latch onto so they can put other things down.
Seconded...errr, thirded.

Also, people are too blindly fannish to see Sturgeon's Law in action in their dear beloved genres. Sturgeon's Law says, "ninety percent of everything is crud." Yes, even [your favorite genre]. Most anime sucks. Most Western TV sucks. Most books suck, and so does most music. Hell, in my opinion most people suck.

However, it takes a moron to bash the remaining 10% for the suckishness of the bottom 90%.

well i can say that i have started to loath my TV... only good thing i have seen on it in the last year was football... i find that i love anime for one reason alone and that is at some point it will end its not like "Friends" or "M.A.S.H." where they keep going on until every one is so sick of them that they can't pay people to watch.. or they just start doing the same thing over and over again. Now on to reality TV .... ITS NOT REAL... in real life I doubt that any one would act like the people on those shows. and finally as for music I like Japanese pop music just because I don't know what there saying ... I would bet that I would like back street boys if I didn't know of the carp there singing about.

(these are my opinion and you can't change or steal them and i hope to not make any one mad if you happen to like what i dislike hell that most likely makes you a better person then me any ways)

We get lots of channels, the only problem is that if my wife wants to watch another channel I have to go up on the roof and rotate the antenna.

Channel surfing doesn't really happen at our house.
