OMG, 6 day necropost!

/kills self

Ok, I just bought the manga, and it's so damn cool (in a way it makes you think a little bit about habits)! I hope this becomes a series.

My personal bet is that the next CLAMP anime will be Tsubasa, with the requisite xxxHolic crossover in the first episode or two.

But to do that, I think they're going to need more source material.

xxxHolic is three volumes long in Japan, and is still running. In the US, Volume 2 will be out on June 29, and Volume 3 on October 26. And if the time between release dates stays consistent, Volume 4 should be out in Japan in late June or early July, and in the US sometime next February.

Tsubasa is five volumes long, with Volume 6 probably coming out in mid- to late June.

The last CLAMP anime from such a short amount of source material was Angelic Layer, which was very different from its manga, and before that was Clamp School Detectives, which also drew on Duklyon and 20 Mensou, giving them seven volumes of source material that still heavily diverged from the manga.

The only short-source (five or fewer volumes) CLAMP manga-to-anime adaptation that stayed very faithful to the manga was the first season of Rayearth (three volumes, back in 1994-5).

I'm going to guess that they'll wait until at least seven volumes of Tsubasa have been released before they announce plans to animate it (Hopefully with Madhouse again as the animation studio).

Maybe an OVA would suffice?

I really hope they consider a series too! For both. Tsubasa would be awesome due to the crossovers alone, and xXx Holic is just a beautiful take on human nature if you ask me.

Clamp School Detectives has an anime oO!?!! Now I only have the third book, but how do you make an anime out of something like that? (I can't remember the specifics, just that I couldn't believe I was entertained by something that seemed so mundane oO...(mundane yet cool >.>)

Question! Is the Angelic Layer Manga truly different from the anime? I've collected the first 6 dvd volumes to date (waiting on number 7) and I'm liking it, what's the manga like? Should I take the time to order it?

And I'm still waiting on a copy of Tsubasa z.z Went shopping today, my anime didnt' have it, they're still waiting on the two Clamp titles from Del Ray, (though I nabbed xXx from another store). Though heh, the one shop guy I was discussing manga with started a comment..."I don't know Clamp recently they're stuff has been..." he trailed off, apparently the (YOU-ARE-SO-NOT-EVEN-GOING-TO-COMMENT-ON-CLAMP-UNWORTHY-BLASPEMER) look I shot him silenced him  Overall it was amusing, apparently he wasn't expecting that sidelong suspicious glare from me, ^^.../cackles.

Clamp School Detectives did have a series, and it has been licensed by Bandai. Unfortunetely, it's only available in VHS and it's subbed.

Angelic Layer is cute...but that's pretty much it. I mean, it doesn't have much substance, does it?

I've read both Tsubasa and xXxholic now...can't wait till the next volumes come out! xXxholic definitely had a very gothic feel to it that isn't seen in a lot of CLAMP stuff (with the exception of maybe X) and Tsubasa was great...out of curiosity, do Fai D. Flowright and Kurogane appear in any other CLAMP mangas? There are so many recurring characters in Tsubasa, I can't be sure. I like the new designs for Li and Sakura and Touya. Chii looks cute with those cat ears!

Is it just me, or does Kurogane look like he belongs in Naruto?

Hmm. Sounds like you got rid of your VCR. There's a reason why you should have kept it.

Oh I still have a vcr kicking around, but in my experience it's waaay more difficult to locate VHS' for anime than dvds.
