No more pointless than android 21's topic (referring "new anime I created. Need help...)

Gee.. thanks. You'll be amazed with the ideas people can come up with. (but ideas or only 1% of the work..... Most people don't like to do the 99% of the OTHER WORK so they just whine on bbs like this.)

Sorry for my ranting. Esca22. It is VERY hard to become an anime director. There are many JAPANESE people who want to be directors. Most just end up being manga artist or just regular animators. Usually directors are manga artists or animators before they are directors. It is just like Hollywood, you need to work UP the ladder. The director is not only responsible for the story, but music (so he/she needs a keen ear), creating an anime that is marketable (which is VERY hard and limits the director's freedom), choose the Seiyuu/voice actor (so you need to be VERY proficient at Japanese, correct any cels that look wrong (so you need to be a good artist), work on the story boards (see back), etc. Many directors become EXTREMELY stressed to meet their deadline, so it is very common for an anime to be either very sloppy or have a delayed release.

I'm sorry Escaflowne22, it is impossible to become an anime director. I beleive there has NEVER been a non-Japanese director. You can become a live action movie director at Hollywood (but you will have to work your way up on a LONG ladder) or you can be a novolist. (like you said, you are "excellent at telling stories")

By the way, japanese animation style HAS already been brought in. It is called the Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions.
