This is one of those 'Someone will never get tired of it...we don't know who or why...but some will...' topics....personally, I really think it's an apples and oranges kind of deal...I mean, all the really have in common is mecha, and even then the mecha aren't exactly similar...

Still: My $0.02 on the matter

Like RichLather I'd like to see and EVA take on a full blown newtype (in this case Amuro) in Nu Gundam with funnels (throw in the Psyco frame to get things really interesting)

Feasibly if they newtype were strong enough they could cancel out an AT Field (last I checked AT is technically the pilot's soul...thus it's possible a newtype could project their soul in a similar fashion)

Plus, even if the Newtype dies, they could easily pull a Paptimus Scirocco move and render the EVA pilot a total vegetable, in effect, having the last laugh...

As for the Lance of Longenus (sp?) well...here's an interesting thought on that matter...

true, when NERV used it to kill the 16th (I think it was 16th I kind of blank on the order of them out side of Sachiel being 3rd, Bardiel being 12th, and Kaoru being 17th) they said it had wound up near the moon and they could retrieve it...however, in the EVA universe, mankind hadn't gone into space yet...in the Gundam universe, there's people all over the stars, including Lunar Installations...in the event the two universes did cross, it's not improbable to suggest that, say, the Earth Federation could retrieve the lance...

Just a thought...

Strength is entirely debatable...

As for size...I really don't think that's a major issue...

I mean, the original Gundam took down the Mobile Armor Byg-Zam which was at least twice as large
and let's not forget how NERV was nearly destroyed by a microscopic angel...never judge an opponent just by how large or small they are (if anything, I'd think a gundam's smaller size increases it's maneuvering against an EVA
