Yes, they're just the japanese version of our "made for tv soaps" congrats for making me remember that.Sir Enji wrote:If I remember right Kenshin translates directly as "X" though it means "Heart of the Sword"
and just because they're oavs doesn't mean they're not movies
Two different versions of Rurouni Kenshin?

Yeah hes got it pretty head on.
Just some things that bothered me about kenshin
First off the only way to be a samurai is if you were born one. Kenshin was never a samurai. He was an excellant swordsman, but never a samurai.
To add to that a Ronin is what a wandering samurai would be properly called.

95 episodes of Rurouni Kenshin and there is a bloodless version of that
Samurai X movies are as follows:
Trust
Betrayal
Requiem for Patriots
Reflections
Should have saw this earlier
I'm not sure positively how they run in order but this is how I believe it goes
Samurai X: Trust
Samurai X: Betrayal
Rurouni Kenshin TV series
Samurai X: Requiem for Patriots
Samurai X: Reflections
You do understand that in japan Rurouni kenshin just means Samurai Kenshin 0o...
I mean, the X isn't really that american (if so then you'd have to say X/1999 sucked) so 0o I don't really see your point.
While i'm all for not changing the names of animes, because for 1 the american covers look gay, and 2 japanese lettering looks cool and "l33t".
I don't get off where you say "Samurai X" sounds american.

Is the art "better," or is it just preferable because you're more used to it? I mean, I like the series art better too, but the OAVs are prettier, although the animation feels off.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:Series will always IMO have the better art style.
Oh--and since when is all anime porn? *looks at weird screencaps thread* Oh wait...
