The anime is rated 13+ and the manga is rated 17+ for a reason

The manga is far more detailed/dramatic with regards to the characters than the anime. Makes for a good read.

it's a really good book series, but the anime is a little lacking. there is, in my humble opinion, too much band and not enough relationship in the anime. the manga tho, is awesome. and the american dubs are HORRID. i cringe, i really do. one thing i like about the anime tho, is they have ryuichi (shuichi's lifelong star idol) sing a really nice song that me and my friend sing all the time. it's a really great one. but... erm... n e 1 figure out exactly what is going on between tohma and yuki... it seems by book 7 that they had a thing... but im not quite sure. n e 1 read the japanese 1s? can u tell me?
