show some kind of really cool mecha animes like gundam wing/gundam wing endless waltz, and some romance ones as well such as his and her circumstances. Maybe even ghost in the shell(both the movie and the tv series)

C'mon, I'm surrounded by club members who doesn't even give dubs a chance. :?
As much as I sympathise with your situation, I would still cringe at having to watch things dubbed.

It's not that I have any sort of animosity for the dub voices, far from, but I've just gotten so used to watching anime in Japanese with subtitles (and by now I took enough Japanese classes to pick up a lot just from speech), that it just doesn't seem... right. It's a change to the mode of viewing, one I'm not greatly interested in (have I mentioned anime is also my best Japanese listening-practice?)

However, were there a majority of votes for dubs in my club, I'd gladly concede. And quit it shortly thereafter (again, out of not animosity, but rather distance from my own preference)

But let's not go dub vs sub here!

Heh, except they sure don't vary them very much during the first half which I can only attend... Well, in a sense they do, but I wish they'd stick something more shounen-type after Kadocha or something like that
*sigh* The first half seems to end up being in the realm of gender-neutral-leaning-to-romance-or-otherwise-sappy-if-occasionally-comedic shows

I do hope they vary their schedule more though.
A lot of people like to draw and chill and play video games during the breaks as well.
I wish they showed AMV's, too. Besides Euphoria, that is
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

You didn't hear this from me, but if you run the command prompt and ping the site, then use the ip, you should be able to come here. You can't log in or stuff like that, but at least you can view things, and that's a step in the right direction I guess.

There's not a single teacher who would support an anime club in my school -.- which sucks because I've got more than enough stuff alone to keep us in different anime for at least a year (When I get money, more or less, it goes towards anime... unless there's a game comming out, which has become rare).

Any ideas on simply how to get one started? There's a teacher that does games, but I doubt he'd do anime. I really can't think of any teachers that would, beyond my mythology teacher, and that's doubtful. She probably wouldn't mind starting a sci fi club, though >.<

Don't worry Tono_Fyr, when I started this club I didn't think any of my teachers would do it. Do you have an art teacher? I asked my art teacher and at first he was very...hessitant, to say the least. But then I told him stuff that made him feel guilty if he didn't sponsor the Club! And it totally worked  ... Or maybe that teacher you mentioned that likes games, it wouldn't hurt to ask!

I guess I will show some Anime videos. I like the Mecha stuff, like G Gundam, Gundam Wing, and then romance stuff like His and Her Circumstances. I think I'll show some Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin and other stuff I have.

Every title you said you'd show has aired on Cartoon Network. I agree with Merm; I think it'd be better if you avoided showing those things or at least make sure they aren't the ONLY thing you are showing.

Rightstuf gave me permssion to show His and Her Circumstances a couple of years ago when I was first appointed manager of my club. Central Park Media gave me permission to show Yami No Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness) although now I can't find where you can ask for permission from their site.

You may want to go through your DVD collection and anyone else's in your club to see if you can find titles to ask permission to show.

Also, if you have a club of at least 20 members, you may want to try signing up with FUNimation's Operation Anime. They send you the DVDs and ask that the club members fill out surveys in return.

ADV and Bandai don't like anime clubs too much... Chances are, if you asked them permission, they'd say "NO!!!"

At Animania all we show is unlicensed stuff you can get off of the unlicensed anime BitTorrent sites (not naming which though). We occasionally show something that's been licensed, but what can ya do, right?

Alright I really like all of your ideas but I need some advice on how to start an anime club here at my school. It's not really a problem with the teachers but I don't know how many students like anime and manga and the ones who do, they might not want to come to and after school program. Is a small club okay? If not what should I do.
COWBOY BEBOP
The work. Which will become a genre in itself, will be called...
