Do you get both the manga and anime of a series?

It depends. For instance I goth both anime and manga of Evangelion. I like both equally as well as Rurouni Kenshin and FLCL.

However I like the anime version of Cowboy Bebop rather than the manga version. I like the manga version of Love Hina over the anime version of it.

It goes both ways or stays in the middle.

Closest I ever got to that was getting a few of the No Need For Tenchi graphic novels. They're pretty much independant of the OVAs, even though I'm pretty certain they follow the same continuity, so it's just more Tenchi fun for me :)

Action anime's can never reach their full potentials in manga form.

I've been reading Initial D lately and if it weren't for watching the anime first, I wouldn't see myself enjoying it as much.

Anime and Manga

I have both the manga and the anime for DNAngel, though I must say, the manga is better for the most part. I'm planning on collecting Candidate For Goddess and then maybe collecting Pilot Candidate if it is any good. Usually if I was thinking of buying an anime I would just do it, but I have heard such mixed opinions about it that I just don't know.
