My parents and I have kind of met a mutual understanding. They've enforced what is acceptable and what is not acceptable for me to watch, and we share similar views and morals anyway, so it really isn't much of an issue (I'm a little more liberal minded than them at times, though).

But, like most people are saying, it really depends on the maturity of your daughter.

(Wipes tears from eyes) :D Sorry, but we're lucky if we can agree on what time it is. Mutual Assured Destruction is more like it. We're together mainly out of determination to make each other's life hell. First one to walk out loses you know.

Ok, I'm kidding. Really we do love each other but it is a running gag over our differences...I'm a semi-reformed fanboy and she's a living Jeff Foxworthy stand-up routine. But I digress...

I've got to admit I completely overlooked the 'age 13' rule. Either I feel comfortable with what the daughter watches or I don't. I'm not sure about her maturity level either. She's a mini-me, much to the wife's dismay.

(Speaking of 'Ikki Tousen', I had to try to define 'Booby bombs' to her for nearly 15 minutes. Since she dosen't have them yet, she dosen't quite understand the fascination boy have with 'em. I keep telling her she'll figure it out in a few years.)

My parents don't even KNOW what I watch...and I'd like to keep it that way. My dad took me to my first R rated movie when I was in the second grade. They haven't "drawn the line" on anything since I was in elementary school. My little brother has a Jenna Jameson background on his comp, and I'M the one who tells him off for watching inappropriate things on the laptop.

Negligence is bliss.

I do try to hide my yaoi stash, though.

In any case...I think people just need to know what their kids are watching. As mentioned above, it all depends on the kid. You wouldn't want a loose cannon with no common sense watching Akira, would you?

Agreed, some parents/people do.
Personally see people's maturity level in their actions, thoughts and things said.
Your daughter is what she behaves to be.
In addition kids can be mature about something and completely overbearing with others.

My submissive owns more hentai then I can possibly list. She's a good girl.
If you have kids, where do you draw the line?
Easy. I keep it in line with their level of education and comprehension. DUH Anything other than that is a utter waste.
For those that have parents that draw limits, what are they and do you think they're fair?
Since I'm 25 (and unlike the rest of you, I don't live with my parents) I watch what I like. If I want to amuse myself (and shock the hell out of my Mormon roommate) I'll stream Hentai over to the 50 inch bigscreen so it's the first thing he sees when he comes home after work.

I watch hentai with my girlfriend.

You all should follow suit.

I wouldn't give a damn what they watch. As long as they don't pull any stunts.

Well seeing as I'm still 15 I still live with my parents. They've never really said that I'm not allowed to watch certain types of anime but I can guess. Basically if it has sex in it its a no no. Although I dont even know if they know about that. Probably sense my mother was looking for anime pics to put on a birthday card for me. She typed in free anime pics. And from me doing that whenever both my parents were at work was going to tell her not to do that. But I wasn't quick enough. She discovered it. Then she went to a section titled Harry Potter to see if they had any Harry Potter pics. Non hentai ones. And thats how she found out about hentai. I got alittle off topic. But yeah as long as it has no sex or nudity in it I dont think they care. Though my grandma could give a shit less about nudity in anime. I watched Ghost in the Shell with her and she didn't say a thing.

Well my parents were like 'Well they're cartoons, how bad could they be?' Gullible fools. I thought I had it all covered until my mom walked in on me watching Hellsing.

Well, I'm Korean and back when I was younger and just starting to get into anime, my mom didn't really feel comfortable because of the stereotypes that she had in her mind of Japanese cartoons (violence and sex). Of course, there's some truth to it and even though she didn't like it, she never stopped me.
