I highly suggest this anime. And be sure to give it a hug when you get it.

Hanajima in the last episode = WTF you rule! :P
She does. She really really does.

Too bad it didn't play out quite like that in the manga. :-\ She was awesome in the last episode of the anime.

Fruits Basket is indeed a good show. Like some people have said, it has its fair share of humor, romance, and even drama/angst. The show is unique, genuine, and sweet. Most of the show is cute and light-hearted, but it can be funny and it doesn't shy away from character development.

Overall, it's a very well-done romance show that is balanced in all the right areas.

*joins the bandwagon* Fruits Basket is great. The story, animation, and music are good. However, the thing that got me hooked on this show was how I can identify with the characters. You kind of see pieces of you in there, which makes you love...or hate *cough*...the characters. It's nice to see some Hanajima fans. (It seemed like I was the only one for a bit.)

Damn you Netflix for not having it!

Then again, I can probably get the box cheap....

Yeah, I recomend trying to find the box at Best Buy. They had a better price on it than anywhere else I saw, including websites that usually have stuff WAY cheap.

I got the box set for a mere 55 bucks.
