Ya i usually only use my tv for two reasons to watch dvds and to play halo2. besides that i just use my comp for all my anime needs :D .

i have seen all of FMA and all i have to say is you will like it. It is a very good series and i can't wait till i get the dvd starter set.

PS: if you buy the dvd, watch it in Jap w/ eng subs, it is sooo much better in my opinion.

And hey, from what I've seen of FMA so far, Funimation didn't go and screw it up (like DBZ)! They finally learned, oh happy day :D !

You haven't seen Fruits Basket or Blue Gender didn't you (no comment on Kiddy Grade since I never saw it)?

Well I did see Blue Gender, I didn't like it at all (the voice acting and the anime in general). As for Fruits Basket, I saw the first episode on a preview DVD before it was released a long while ago. As far as I can remember it was so-so, but first impressions are iffy. I laugh at the first Eva dub episode, the voice acting was so bad, but it turned out good.

The Dub job on FMA is okay in parts and downright awful n others... From what i could bare to listen to, The actor who did Al seemed as if he was reading off of cue cards at a very non-natural pace for the first few episodes. It seriously sounded like it was his first voice acting job. Also about the content, i was led to believe (since at the time i could not watch it; not having a TV at school and all) that the scene where Edward reaches into the portal to save Al contained far less blood than the Japanese version. Hmm....

The only parts of the dub I have seen were from the PS2 game - I thought it was done very well. The only thing I didn't care for were the "dramatic" parts (mainly the ending). I loved all the comedy scenes though, especially when Ed's called short - his V.A. seems to have a lot of energy ^.^

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the actual series because I don't have Cartoon Network - I'll just have to wait for the DVDs ^^;

Al's English voice actor is a 12 year old kid. So yeah, it's his first acting job. But I think he's doing a good job for his frist time and just being 12.

The dub isn't terrible, but it certainly isn't up there with the good dubs that Bandai has produced lately (and not so lately) like GitS: SAC, Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop and Witch Hunter Robin. Edward's VA is pretty good. A lot of people have complained about Mustang's VA, but after beating the PS2 game, I'd say he's not bad at all.

Well, I think there has to be some sort of professional standard for people to be held to regardless of age. Other child actors compete with each other for live action roles and the ones who actually act get the part are the ones that deserve it. As a VA, he has gotten better but i believe the dubbing director let too much stuff slide for quite a while. Several more hours in the studio may have helped, but because of child labor laws, child actors can only be on set for a limited amount of time. What probably happened was that the distributors were so set on a deadline (to capitalize on whatever trend they thought would make FMA more profitable when it started instead of another few weeks from then)that they pushed inferior quality goods into the market and polluted the waters that are Dubbed anime that much further.[/b]

Actually...... they do cut stuff. If you have been watching Adult Swim more often, they claimed a month ago that they were happy since they didn't cut anything for the latest season of Inuyasha. That means that they usually cut something.

Sorry but, the dub of Gits is horrible!! That voice that the main girl has is from some other dub which she also sounded like a she-man in!! "I can't remember the show though."
