It is actually to an extent true. There's a very strong cultural distinction between 'us' and 'them' in Japan. The Japanese will be very polite about it, but it is a mentionable trait.
So the comment is not unwarranted as you might think.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

The foreign policy of the States have caused problems in the past, but some good things have come about as well.

Racism and the like is a little difficult in a country where 99% of the people share the same culture and history.

However, traditionally Japan and its children were created by the sun goddess Amaterasu-o-mi-kami.

She came from the eye of Izanagi. He and Izanami were the first two that created, in various ways, the other gods.

Well ancient Japanese beliefs are a little obscured, that is the basic idea if I recall correctly.

As a result Japan does not allow other people to become citizens.

Of course on the other hand Buddhism is accepting by nature of others.
(The above information about Amaterasu is from Shintoism.)

That's not true. A quick google search will quickly show otherwise.

Well, Japan does have its prejudices, but they are more of the natives vs. foreigners variety than the racist kind. I'd say that American and Japan tend to have similar and mutual views: just as the Japanese don't like a bunch of Americans who try to tell them what to do, we Americans get pretty grouchy about Europeans who try to tell us what to do. (Think of Ohio and the morons from the UK's scandal rag Guardian who tried to tell the voters what to do, for example.)

I certainly don't blame them for wanting tourists to mind their manners, since we certainly expect the same of our tourists, though we might be more forgiving of their gaffes and foibles when they've just gotten here. (It's my understanding that a lot of Japanese tourists will tell you how much they admire your possessions and ask how much you paid for them, a touchy subject, to be sure.)

It's not as if we don't import various cultural ideas from each other, it's just that we tend to prefer friendly things like anime and TV shows to obvious propaganda and vitriol-filled addle-pated rants about how America is bad, bad, bad, and how foreigners must be really wonderful people for pointing this out to us. I'm sure you can imagine how well Japan would take that kind of criticism.

With anime, we get a bit of insight into the Japanese psyche, just as they get some idea of our culture from TV shows they've imported from us. The only problem I see with this is how these media do tend to tell only one side of any given story. From our decidedly secular TV shows, you'd never know how religious America is and how this affects everything we do, and from all the racy imagery in anime, you'd never know that actual sex in Japan has lately been in decline. Some more open and honest portrayal of these realities would be a good thing for all of us.

ok you got me started

ok so im in school and this shy-talktonoone japanese girl gets transfered into my class, and i talk to her for awhile and after that she said her concept of americans changed because of me but then i had to tell her that it shouldnt because im not like most people, and that everyone in the class was wondering why i even talked to the "chinky girl who cant talk right [followed by the typical ching cho low thing that society thinks is any asian persons language]" i kinda explained to her about society and how they outcast most foreigners and people who dont give in to their society, then she told me thats kinda the same in japan, so in conclusion every society from every country hates foreigners, thus society is bad for your health.

foreign ppl r cool, dont try to deny it or we will build a giant robot mecha and come after you!

ok now that im actually listening to the segment... they really need to do their research first! theyre trying to make it seem like japan is "invading" america through video games, anime, and magna...what idiots
then they try to say its all over the place in subways n trains, i have never seen anyone in public with anime or manga, if you want to talk about what is taking over our youth society and corrupting them, talk about mainstream things.

Also they say its all about sexual or violent things, while some respected titles may be so, look at america, look at the bilboard advertisements on the side of the road, turn on your tv and watch any show with big ratings out there, or any commercial for any product, most of all turn on your radio and tune it to the nearest rap station

anime is not harming anyone and surely isnt invading and talking over america
