You know, I have to say...I enjoyed Kikaider. The movie that came after the series, not so much, because I liked the way the series ended (plus, the color palatte in the movie was too bright). And I think I should give the people who made it credit...with the whole "robot Pinochio" thing, they could've made it a very fluffy story...but they didn't, so it's cool.Unpronounceable_Symbol wrote:Kikaider: sad lonely kid with a guitar and a vintage 80s denim jacket, constantly pining for some girl (voiced by Horie Yui) and eventually breaking down into violence. There is no more emo anime character in history.
Only downside is it kinda sucks a little. Go with Kimagure Orange Road instead, maybe your emo-kid friend will ironically appreciate the classic 80s style.
Anyhow, I wanted to say that Jiro is much more of a mod. He's rockin' the whole "denim tuxedo" thing, with the old-school goggles. Only problem is he rides a motorcycle instead of a Vespa, and he's missing the scarf...an essential mod acessory. But still, if he turned up at a show where some "minimalist" band was playing, he'd fit right in.
