FLCL! has the best anime art, and by far the best manga art, the manga's art was just so impressive that it actually surprised me, i thought usually the manga had the worse art compared to the anime in any series, and only sometimes is that true for the storyline too, cough cough cowboy bebop, cough

I'd definitely give my vote for Ikki Tousen [hot cha cha cha cha cha...]
Please Teacher/Twins
Shamanic Princess [it's damn good when the backgrounds look like freakin' museum work]

and...

AIR!!!! [definitely an eye opener]

Indeed. Shamanic Princess had some good artwork put into it.

I've only seen a fansub trailer for Air, a rather long one that made the series look rather dull, but it looked good none the less.

Beyond the Clouds has some mad looking scenery, the lighting and coloring makes me splooge a rainbow from my pants o.O

Oh I would have to say Vampire Hunter D. I loved everything about that movie and the art was absolutely beautiful. The details were complete.

My fav has always been the artistic style of Astro Boy and Metroplis. I just love the originality to it, it's so unusual it's cool. And I have to agree with the person who said Shaman King and the Clamp series (well, shojo series in genereal usualy have very stylishly dressed characters, if anything).

But, more recentley I love the look of Gankutsuou, wich sorta looks like the anime version of Delta state.

Only one true artist I like in anime, and that's Yoshitoshi ABe, creator of Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane-Renmei, Niea_7, and many others.

Though I do like Range Murata too. Last Exile, Blue Submarine no. 6

I like the animation in Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, and Vampire Hunter D and Spriggan. I think that the animation in all of these shows/movies is excilent, the animation for the action scenes in Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist makes me go "AWESOME!" As for Vampire Hunter D and Spriggan I really liked the styles of animation for both of those, and thought they were done so well.

Horray for good animation! :D

Vampire Hunter D- Amano's art is just gorgeous, the character designs are detailed and beautiful, and the atmosphere of the artwork is perfect for the story. It's very dark and elegant.

RahXephon- Gah, any time I see anything RahXephon I am just struck by the beauty of the artwork. It's very "flowy" and visually appealing, and has a great color palette.

X- It's CLAMP. It's so pretty. . . so so pretty. . . for many of the same reasons as RahXephon, but to a greater degree.

Fruits Basket- More so for the manga than the anime. There is a lot of detail given, especially to the characters' faces.

Witch Hunter Robin- What I liked most about the art was the attempt at realism, especially for the character designs. Robin actually looked like a normal 15-year-old.

As pointed out to me earlier, this thread is for the art, not the animation.

I've always been a fan of the art in the Mario Super Show. It's simply amazing.
