Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, Scrapped Princess, Ayashi no Ceres, Escaflowne, Trigun, Love Hina, Fruits Basket, Excel Saga, Angelic Layer--from these, you can get a good mix of some of the main things anime has to offer: Action, "deep thoughts," stuff blowing up, giant robots, comedy, crack, romance, and sugary-sweet "kawaisa." (Kawaisa is the noun form of "kawaii," and means "cuteness.")

Here is my 5 stages to watching Fooly Cooly

1. First viewing- You laugh at the insanity and randomness of FLCL

2. You catch something, say "OH MY GOD WHATS HAPPENING!", then want to see what else you missed

3. You understand a litltle bit (ex: the reference about Haruko hidden in where Amarao says "As you force yourself to eat the spicy bread you get addicted to it right?")

4. You know why some of the most confusing parts happen. Such as why

Naota kissed Haruko instead of bashing her brains in, or what is happening to Mamimi as the series progresses

5. You gain infinate wisdom and your head explodes.

(I have reached the ultimate stage though. You body, in a time of stress summons a new head from Medical Mechanica.)

man there are tons of anime out there which are good!! look at reviews man. my sugestions are 'mai -hime' (mad action, cool chicks and very emotional story...), and yeh...lol cbb to mention now that i though about it...i've seen to many and cbb to rite any more...well just watch mai hime its good
