Why do you love anime?

I guess I'm just an old guy so I have different reasons. I have always liked scifi and much of anime is scifi. I enjoy a well thought out story that is not geared to the mind of five year olds. I like good detailed animation. I like to be entertained, taken to situations away from my everyday life. I enjoy a rowsing adventure tale where the good guys win the girl in the end. Anime takes you where cartoons never go.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I don't really know why I like anime so much maybe its because they have way cooler and original storylines that would never come out of Hollywood. Most western animation is lazily drawn (I mean what the f*** is with most of the stuff on Nickelodeon I could draw better blindfolded) but most anime has so much time and care put into it.
The world is not spherical today

its like living in a fantasy, watching shows that expand your horizions. it lets you see what the future could be like. im hooked on anime. when i finish off a series i find another. i guess its cool to learn about another culture, while watching some kick ass shows.

I could never leave behind the simple, mindless, repetitive and strangely addictive world of "american tv". I guess part of the enjoyment one gets from "american tv" comes from how jaded a person is.
