You know people need to learn that there is a difference between reality and fiction. When people do this sort of thing, then someone notices a paralle like with lain as you mentioned below, and of course the person (not you personally) that does is an evil soccer mom, and then they say everyone who watches lain is going to kill themselves to meet their friends on the weird, and then Lain is banned form the US, or what ever other cournty your living in.Alpha_Hazard wrote:Xiao Yi, a 13-year-old from Tianjin, committed suicide thinking that he would meet his friends from cyber space after he died.
He Jumped from a 24-storey high-rise
Seriously, I hate the fact that sometimes one person actions can effect everyone. I HATE EVIL SOCCER MOMS!

I SACRIFICE!

Berserker!
sorry...that was a little rude of me...
hehehe, but still, the fact that someone with that name went nuts just now is appropriate.
anyway. Although it's true that this boy may have seen Lain, or that someone may see this and want Lain censored, I don't like the idea of looking at the issue that way, which is the problem that many parents like that have. Nevermind the fact that there is a parallel, the fact of the matter is that this boy is using modern mythology to fill up some rift in his life. It is very likely that this could happen without ever having come in contact with lain...
now if the boy's friends start claiming they are receiving e-mail from him, then I would say there is a definite link between the incident and the series.
