P.S. If they got away with practically EVERYTHING that was in FLCL, then there may be little to stop them from keeping Eva as close to the original as they can.

That's the MOVIE! I dunno if Adult Swim can get away with that, but for the time being, I'm just thinking of the TV series.

I don't know.. if they do a good job editing the scene, they'll be able to not show the obvious nudity or the "white stuff" without losing too much power of the scene (in fact, doing so might leave more room for speculation, on the part of new-comers, as to what he actually did to her; it might even make veiwers whom have never seen the show think that he did something even worse to her, considering his reaction later - it leaves an air of mystery enough for people to ask "what did he do? did he kiss her? did he rape her? what?" - thank you, creative ambiguity

ADV doesn't even have the rights to the movies. What makes you think those will also be shown on CN?

The funny thing is that even if they didn't edit the series, people will still be left in a WTF?!?! state.

Scintilla is right about End of Evangelion though. Mangler has the rights to that.

If ADV had it, I'd have a nice R1 Renewal set vs. the incomplete Platinum series.

just a few things from an eva geek.
manga has the rights to EoE. IF they were to show it on CN the editing would be extencive. the scene in question would be removed be cause if you remember shinji says, "I'm so f***ed up."
as far as the series.... i'll just say i hate most anime on CN as it causes people to be cheap and lazy because they see the edits and think that its the whole thing. it would be interesting to see what they can get away with since it seems it will be on adult swim. due to the hours i work i havent been able to see any of the anime that CN has had on the the past 2 years and i i no longer have cable, but if i did i am still not sure i would watch eva on CN. i can think of a few sences that may be cut like the "Do you want to become one with me..." bits. but the controversy over it could be too much for some.
