I got bored around episode 19. I like it alright while I'm watching, but I can't fathom spending another hundred hours watching it.
If it's anything like Takahashi's other nigh-unending überwork, Ranma 1/2, I'd be curious as to whether the manga feels less drawn-out. Can anyone run a side-by-side comparison?

It's repeatitive, very repeatitive. I suggest not getting into it now. You should just go with the new/good animes around like Full Metal Achemist or Bleach. No wait, ask them about those, or at least Bleach. If they haven't heard of Bleach then their opinion on Inuyasha is complete amatuerish bull#%#@ "sorry for being stereotypical, but that's my opinion."

Well... Inu Yasha is my favorite anime and I think I'm lucky because I'm from Italy and here I can watch it on MTV (that's the best channel here if you like anime).
And... why do I like it?
Because there's both action and romance in it, because new characters come up every now and then and everyone's different and for that reason you may love a characther who isn't necessarily the hero, because it's difficult to find a love story in an action anime (unluckily for boys, most girls like love stories and "fall in love" with a character ); because it's 167 episodes and 4 movies long: when you like a series you never want to see it end! Because it's not just something like: my enemy is strong and I must become stronger to defeat him! ... there's more... they payed attention for characters' feelings... and made the story more interesting and enjoyable!
So... for these reasons and for others that I'm not able to explain because I can't find the words, I think it's the most beautiful anime at the moment but of course that's just my own opinion! ^__^

Kasaioni and Bankotsu were brothers and were both in the band of seven(Then he was Fenkotsu) untill Bankotsu Defeated Kasaioni in a test-of-strenght fight and replaces him with that stupid machine, Genkotsu, Kasaioni then became a potions master cause his grandfather was, Kasaioni is a fire demon, later Kasaioni marryed to a woman named, Ryonea and after episode 167(in inuyasha) Kasaioni joined the group, and set out to kill Naraku!(Questions on this pm me)
