when you cosplay as a character and there isn't even a con meeting... and if you know all the people that do the voices of an anime (even the very minorest of minor characters) by heart.

A hard core anime fan is sone one who watches anime and is so into it they don't realize that they have started eating their granite table top instead of thier chips. The granite then collects in their stomach and intestonal tract, which is right behind the abdominal muscles. A set of muscles often refered to as the core. This hard granite build up behind the core muscles has lead to the term hard core. And since it was cause by being so into anime, they are then called Hard Core Anime Fans. If you think you might be hard core you should contact your doctor about a MRI.
