not really, the boy related to the girl who likes Naruto, he was gathering info with that x-ray mess, the boy talking to bugs was gathering info, even Gaara was gathering info with that weird eye shit, but Sasuke was plain copying his movements based on the other guys movements just like Kakashi did to Zabuza the first time.

Well, Sasuke WAS cheating; but then again, that was the point of the exam: if you can cheat and not get caught in a room full of people looking right at you trying to cheat, then you can do espionage missions as well.
The only reason Naruto and Sakura passed was because she was racking her brain, and he was so much of an idiot he just happened to last long enough while panicing to pass. Sakura effectively did the same thing, but she actually tried.

Shikamaru: Why? Because he uses so much strategy and knowledge BEFORE he goes and does something. EVen when the situation gets a little sticky he comes up with a brilliant plan i.e. facing that girl in the chuunin exam when he did all that crazy shit with the kunai and parachute and shadows and all that.
THANK YOU. Yes, I completely agree. Almost every shinobi in Leaf was useful in some sortive way, or they had a trait about them that provided help when it was needed most. Even Shikamaru, who didn't want to amount to anything in his life, really came through for everyone on the 'Sasuke in a Bucket' arc. Even someone who had barely any influence on the plot was a lot more useful than Sasuke, that guy... Uhm... The fat one... *thinks* >.< Dang it... Choji?
Anyway, yes Madbunny, another one of these. XD I like getting people to discuss 'n at.
What I think SuperShanko is trying to say is that Kishimoto gave Sasuke a blood line ability that was a bit too convienant. I mean, being able to automatically copy moves even if they are far beyond the capacity of your body? Yeah, that's a bit of god moding (So is Gaara's sand sheild thing, but since that chapter and you-know-what happened to him, it might not still be there).
SuperShanko, what you might wanted to have used was when Sasuke fought Gaara in the Chuunin exams. Not only did he rip off of Rock Lee completely, he also ripped off a technique made by Kakashi. Other than his fire spitting trick, Sasuke has NO moves that are his own. He pretty much relies on other people for his power, which also brings to the conclusion, that Sasuke is actually a weak individual. Sure, he trains 'n at, but seriously now. Other than his brains, how else has he managed to advance? ..... Wait a minute, that's everyone in Konoha. -_- *shakes fist at Kishimoto*

i didn't see that fight yet, i read shounen jump when im at the store but i was only able to see Gaara against Rock Lee so far, who was suprisingly doing well so far.and i think him havng the sharigan is kinda stupid, just like Lee said, whats the point of having it if you dont have the strength to back it up, Kakashi having if fine since he has the power and to back it up along with the cool way he keeps it covered instead of just having it pop up like nothing.

I think that's more of Kakashi actually being skilled enough that he can use it as a trump card, Sasuke isn't much help without it. And Sasuke rips off Rock Lee in his first chunin exam fight as well.Super Shanko wrote:i didn't see that fight yet, i read shounen jump when im at the store but i was only able to see Gaara against Rock Lee so far, who was suprisingly doing well so far.and i think him havng the sharigan is kinda stupid, just like Lee said, whats the point of having it if you dont have the strength to back it up, Kakashi having if fine since he has the power and to back it up along with the cool way he keeps it covered instead of just having it pop up like nothing.

Re: Character Study: Sasuke Uchiha
fan girls always fall for the dude who is the dark mysterouse boy with a clouded mind and a secret past that slowly is unvaild, personally I shino is my favorite charecter in naruto sasuke isnt my favorite acully I used to hate him he pissed me off with how he thought he was better then everybody but he was my favorite charecter up untill the chunin exam, I have been reading the naruto manga and yet to see sasuke but I havnt read all the recent chapters my friend says he apearsTainted_Eden wrote:Spoilers ahead, people, spoilers ahead.... Only reply if you've seen the most recent of Naruto...
Firstly, let me say that I love the Naruto manga with hate. It's like 'Nu!' but then the manga goes 'Yes!' and I end up reading it. Plus I wuv Shikamaru. *heart* The anime I don't like too much (sub or dub).
Now that I've said that, please understand that I love Naruto. It's a great universe. Kishimoto, while screwing up a few times, has a great idea going on. All except for one thing: Sasuke Uchiha. Self insert, anyone? Kishimoto himself has said that he views himself as Sasuke, that Sasuke is the cloest personality to him.
Accordingly, a lot of people will like Sasuke just 'cause he's Kishimoto's favorite character. Others love Sasuke 'cause of his moodiness and his dark looks. Still, some fangirls go so far as to read/watch the entire series, build up Sasuke into someone that he's not (ie: An honorable individual). Truthfully, I am sickened by him, so are other Naruto lovers.
So this begs the quesion: Is Sasuke Uchiha worth the fangirlness? Is he something more than just the stereotypical brooding persona? Is Sasuke truly as selfless as the fangirls say he is?
Personally, I think he's a waste of life. Sure, he had begun to open up to Team 7, and perhaps he would've turned out to be an okay guy. But no. His hatred for his brother clouds EVERYTHING. And I mean EVERYTHING. It's like, he has a super sweet pad but NUUUUUU, he has to be obsessed with this brother.
Granted, the death of your entire clan is pretty tramautic, but look at GAARA. Everyone he knew was out to kill him, he even killed his uncle who claimed that he 'loved' him! Yet through the magic of Naruto, Gaara's turning out to be an alright guy.
Anyway, but down to it, Sasuke is selfish. Not only does he leave the entire village to become a missing-nin, he only views Naruto as a friend when it's convienant for him. "Oh! I just remember, to become as strong as my brother, I'm gonna hafta kill you, biatch!" despite having, what, a good year or 6 months of getting into a relationship with him! (not that kind)
And then he completely ignores Sakura until he needs her. Example: At the Chuunin exams, he only really gave her a compliment when EVERYONE was looking. Sasuke only acknowledges people when they are useful to him. He also didn't think much of Orochimaru until he learned he could get more power.
So, what do yins think? Anyone here believe that Sasuke is a selfless individual? Or is he just a brat with a sweet pad?

You guys are missing the benifits of having a clan line that lets you instantly learn skills.
Remember, his whole bloodline had this trait, thus meaning that at a certain point, as soon as they learned the sharingan anyone in the clan would be instantly leveled up to master rank in terms of technique. If a person is smart, like say Kakashi then they could take that and improve upon it with stuff like Chidori. All Sasuke has to do is to cruise around for a while and get into fights.. the higher the level, the more he'll gain. Nobody else has that capacity excepting Kakashi. This means that even stuff like say.... Naruto's Rasengan are not off limits. He just has to see the technique to use it, the only real limitations are the unique skills like Bone guy, and having a demon in you as backup power.
He's a pretty strong/powerful character in theory, but he's also an ass.

Sasuke-personally i dont mind Sasuke, but i dont like or dislike him either. Having a copy skill is extraodinarily powerful. You can literally throw your opponents strength back at them. The problem with this ability is quite evident, the master of the technique has the knowledge of the weaknesses of the technique. As everyone has said he is an ass. Enough said.
Naruto-Another thing is Naruto acts like an idiot and does not observe anything around him. I like his enthusiasm and energy but come on, pay attention. He has alot of strength but he squanders it in his stupidity. If he would learn to be aware of whats around him and be serious, nobody could keep up with him.
Sakura- Someone said that she didnt have to cheat to pass the exam. So? She technichly(sorry bad spelling) failed because as was pre-mentioned the point was to cheat and not get caught, not be overly smart. Unlike Naruto and Sasuke she could figure out the answers without cheating. If the writer had had her check her answers somehow by cheating she would have fullfilled the object of the written exam. If she would stop being so fangirlish over Sasuke and trained she could grow in strength exponentially.

ps. Remember Kakashi's nickname Kakashi the Mirror Wheel Eye? If Sasuke would take a cue from him and copy techniques and wait to use them then he could possibly become a powerful fighter.
