Worst voices in Anime...

If it counts, I would say the voice actors for Tales of Symphonia. Some were okay, but most of them were very disappointing.

I find the japanese voice acting in Puni Puni Poemy to be very annoying.

still it was a bit over the top obnoxious..

I dunno I felt more embarrassed from the idea of someone coming in the room and wondering what the hell I was watching.. but I have the same feeling when I'm watching Naruto in english.. it sounds too much like a little kid show with the way the voice acting is done. At least with Excel Saga or Puni Puni Poemy I can explain it's suppose to be like that.. but Naruto on the other hand.

You got your info a little mixed there, love. "Predilection" was a Nittle Grasper song; therefore it was preformed by Ryuichi Sakuma (voiced by Yamaguchi Kappei, as you said.) However, Shuichi Shindou was voiced by Seki Tomokazu. I know this not only because Seki is my favorite seiyuu, but because he mysteriously stalks me to every anime I watch. That man gets around, yo. o_O

Um, Naruto and cool don't go well togther at the beginning of the series (and at various times later on, too). Unless you think painting graffiti, playing pranks, being generally obnoxious, and doing poorly on tests is cool. You wouldn't be Hinata, would you?

Now, Sasuke is cool. Obnoxious too, but in a different way.

I wonder what the hell I'm watching when viewing Excel Saga or especially Puni Puni Poemy.

Isn't the character of Naruto supposed to be annoying (at least most of the time)?

I do agree to a certain extent that the english Naruto is skewed toward a younger age in the US, but that is the way the American broadcasting system is setup now. No alcohol, guns, smoking, blood, cursing, nudity and a whole bunch of other things are prohibited or very discouraged in shows targeted to kids. Either Japanese kids are more mature than American kids, or the US is a bunch of uptight prudes living in a fantasy world of their own. It's not like the kid characters in anime are the ones smoking and drinking. Adults smoke and drink in real life, why can't you show it in a cartoon? I know many people used to play shoot-em-up with their friends using toy guns and even their fingers as a kid and I've even played with Airsoft guns when I was a teen, that doesn't mean that I'm going to go buy a gun and go on a GTA-type shooting spree. Older cartoons like G.I. Joe and anime-based stuff like Star Blazers, Battle of the Planets (G-Force/Gatchaman), and Robotech had characters that used guns (admittedly, most were laserguns but guns nonetheless). I think parents and peers have more of an influence whether someone starts smoking, drinking, or going on a rampage than a character in a TV show. This whole "parenting by proxy" by using TV media is getting out of hand.

Anywhooo, I don't think any one voice actor annoys me that isn't supposed to, but I do have a beef with a bunch of english dubs where the characters are kids and the voices used are a bit too old-sounding, especially boy's voices like in Kodocha, for example. I almost always watch anime subbed so this isn't a real big issue for me.

Now's here's an interesting follow up question. Has there been any Japanese VA that you feel that sucked? I mean c'mon, talking about how some English VAs suck is pretty repetitive.

To this day, the sound of the Gundam SEED Haro (in English or Japanese...but, actually more in the Japanese) annoys me to no end...

The initial Haros I liked...but the SEED one has this distinctively 'nails on a blackboard' tone to it that just grates... ...and then there's the fact there's more than one of them.
