what i don't understand is how they always edit curse words but they keep the nudity. it seems kind of backwards to me.

any show wether it's anime or not. i do see your point about the ratings, but it doesn't change the fact that it's moraly wrong...Super Shanko wrote:what kind of nudity? and on what shows? and as a simple answer to the question, which do you think will pull in the ratings?

If you are moraly offended, then avoid watching. Other shows and networks get away with similar things. + AS has an obligation to give the fans what they want in order to maintain and even increase their ratings.Kaivy wrote:any show wether it's anime or not. i do see your point about the ratings, but it doesn't change the fact that it's moraly wrong...Super Shanko wrote:what kind of nudity? and on what shows? and as a simple answer to the question, which do you think will pull in the ratings?
As far as Saved By The Bell goes, I read somewhere on wiki that since Cartoon Network was showing some live action type stuff, AS would eventually have to do it too. AS reluctantly complied, since they didn't much of a choice in the matter.

nah, its the inevitable thing where something wonderful starts to turn sour, remember back when AS first started to do straigt action on saturdays and comedy on sundays, it had that certain feel to it that made it special, then after it became Com-Act and passed that fase with the funny animations of b/w cut out characters, around the time with Big-O 2 and Wolfs Rain, and they do those commentary bumps, it's now like "Eh!"Kariudo wrote:hmm...and here I was thinking that they just did it because they hate their jobs and their fanbase

I think a big part of this is due to the success of Family Guy and Futurama on the lineup.Super Shanko wrote:nah, its the inevitable thing where something wonderful starts to turn sour, remember back when AS first started to do straigt action on saturdays and comedy on sundays, it had that certain feel to it that made it special, then after it became Com-Act and passed that fase with the funny animations of b/w cut out characters, around the time with Big-O 2 and Wolfs Rain, and they do those commentary bumps, it's now like "Eh!"Kariudo wrote:hmm...and here I was thinking that they just did it because they hate their jobs and their fanbase

Let's face it, when they got those, they started getting ratings like they had never seen before...and so, as a result, the comedy block gets all the brakes. Hell, you can even see this on the AS message boards, for a while there was a major rivalry between the comedy and action fans over who was the 'worthy' fandom of the group. ...suffice to say, AS's deciding to favor comedy since it gives them the bigger numbers, while financially understandable, has NOT done good things for its fandom. Especially since their own comedy section has been flagging of late...
