Uhm.... Who ever you talked to at Best Buy lied.

Maybe they don't have it in the store, but you can definitely get Full Metal Panic! from their website.

All the anime stores around me shut down too, so I've been forced to order stuff online... If you still have an address you should really try Best Buy's site. Sometimes they have stuff really cheap... (I got the first disk of Fumoffu and the art box for only ten bucks.) Shipping is pretty fast too.

Here's a link:

Hope this helps!
Ranch dressing.
I challenge you to sit there and really examine the taste of it with your tongue and tell me what it's made out of, without looking at the bottle.
It doesn't taste like what it's made out of, does it?

That's part of the reason I was looking at Best Buy. Suncoast and Sam Goody wanted $90 for the Full Metal Panic boxed set, but Best Buy only wanted $60.

I'll look at their site again, but now with the gun show coming up, there are other temptations on my mind (I still need a collapsable M-16 style buttstock for my AK).

It's a longshot...but I've managed to find some deals at comic book stores and video game stores. A lot of these places buy and sell used dvd's as well, so sometimes you get lucky.

Though, I do agree that online is the best place, above all...and ebay especially has some great deals...just watch out for bootlegs.

Translation: It's a miracle if you can find any anime DVDs that aren't bootlegs.

Online ordering is your best bet period. Shopping at a brick and mortar store is like hunting for that proverbial needle in the haystack. They just don't seem to take anime seriously.

If you have any friends or family you'd trust with mail, you could have orders delivered to them. Whenever you're in the area or when you get a permanent address, you can then either pick up the items in person from them or have them ship them to you. Of course, this is only something you'd do if you have people you can trust that much.

And I wouldn't take anything from the ACLU that seriously. Despite all their hysteria, the Gestapo still isn't showing up at people's doors.
If only I understood Japanese. . .

Best Buy should be able to order any anime that is on their web site and have it at the store for you. You may have to pay in advance.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

www.newegg.com

not the best, but free shipping, I've gotten 4 dvds from them, 1 anime, 3 non-anime, and I'm perfectly happy...

[one shipment got rain drenched but they wrapped it in such a way that even freezing snow couldn't damage the dvd within... ^_^]

ebay? ah boy... I get my hentai-posters from there, but that's it.

fry's would have something too but rightstuf owns all for that regard usually...

A Store. Preferably one that doesn't require you to sell your organs for box sets.
