I liked Eva just fine. But, you know, I want to see what other stories Anno / the writers / ANYONE can come up with. Even if they're about giant robots again, or even if they're about angst again. I mean, I know they've done other things, but instead of this.
It's more interesting to compare different works by the same creator(s) than to revisit the same world for no apparent reason. Besides, even if you love a setting and a set of characters, at least try to respect the story that was originally told. Even if it has flaws.
They might be good, who knows, but I still feel like the audience is being cheated.
Super Shanko, a holiday? Everyone here seems pretty cynical to me...
4 NEW Evangelion movies :O

milk milk milk milk....
They didn't even finish the manga, FGS! And the Iron Maiden 2nd is also on hold. Guess the GAINAX people have no love for paper and ink.
I agree with Daio Kaji. Maybe they're on the verge of bankrupcy and need to gather money FAST. Or maybe they're just greedy.
Anyways, I don't mind. They can milk all they want as long as the plot quality doesn't drop too much. The first time you watch NGE (especially the EoE) it's brain-screwing, but once you're used to it, it's good for light watching.
The only problem IMO is having to deal with another wave (more like 4 waves) of grammarless fanfiction in which Shinji and Asuka get married or Rei becomes a "normal human being".

And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

So you're complaining about something you made up. That, my friends, is true Evangelion fandom. Right there.Super Shanko wrote:you can imagine, some group of people, somewhere, broke out there parents wine.
Questions to the universe:
- Are the Eva manga series making any money?
- If they DO make it into a "cough it up again, bitches" fundraiser, will they make a series without a Gainax ending?

End of Evangelion was canon, the real ending was the end of Episode 26. I remember reading that it said that End of Evangelion wasnt to replace the end of Ep 26, but just a response to fans. Also in End of Evangelion, it was stated that since the Rei Angel died people could reconstruct their bodies from the LCL based on their will to live... That is why Asuka was there. (Presuming that she died when the Mass Produced EVAs shredded Unit 02)
Also there should be a parody of EVA like Spaceballs for Star Wars that someone mentioned earlier..

1st-no idea if it's making money really, but personally i was buying it, they haven't released another volume in quite some time (as said earlier, no love for the paper/ink)SarahtheBoring wrote:Questions to the universe:

2nd-wouldn't GAINAX be involumed with the whole thing anyway?

possibly she means without some existential pseudo arthouse style ending. Or maybe at least just a satisfying ending. I'd be happy with that.Daio Kaji wrote:i'm old enough to buy it myself TY... i just don't feel like itSuper Shanko wrote:you can imagine, some group of people, somewhere, broke out there parents wine.

Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night. Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
