I dunno, there are some pretty weird ass songs out there.
I don't have any captures at the moment, but I recall Bubblegum crisis, gravion Zwei and a few others made me go 'WTF?'.
Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night. Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Paranoia Agent?

The lost children are a spectacular mushroom cloud in the sky
The lost children are comrades to the little birds that have infiltrated these lands
Touching the sun-kissed lawn with their hands
They are trying to speak with you
Dreams bloom atop benches in the apartment complex
Hold your fate inside your heart
Quell your depression
Stretch your legs out towards tomorrow
Don't worry about things like tidal waves
The lost children are a spectacular mushroom cloud in the sky
The lost children are comrades to the little birds that have infiltrated these lands
The lost children are dreams grown atop benches in the apartment complex
The lost children are comrades born on the day of the light that filters through the tree

----
For meanings, if I may state an ending: "be your girl" from elfen lied. Can sum up the series quite well with the Kohta/Lucy saga.

Unless my HK translations are off, the first ending theme to Victory Gundam is surprisingly fitting given the nature of the show

(Translation of part of the end theme)

WINNERS FOREVER
In whatever era
People use their freedom as the stakes
WINNERS FOREVER
Keep on fighting
Even if you're the only one left

(...of course, that's kind of putting it nicely given how many people die in this series.)

"rock the dragon, rock the dragon, a come, a come, a come get me!!"
Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.

There's nothing to worry about.

The opening to Zegapain, song and animation -wise, has nothing to do with the series.

huh? how so?

the animation for the OP is like a montage of the characters and mechs of the series - same for the ed.

the songs seem to be about remembering/memories which is used alot in the story

soul hunter.

you who searches for the land of dreams
until everyone carved your name into their hearts
a smile wich overcomes sadness
can I put my trust in you?
though there was no end I couldn't find it
and got lost at times
my wounds and my losses
i'll someday turn them into a glow around me
regrets will never get the better of me for I have wings
I feel like I can go anywere with you
