Here's hoping this lights a fire under AS's ass a bit...
Even with the new stuff they've been pretty cheap to their Action fanbase...if they now have the possibility of competition, they might start wising up (it's a long-shot...Williams Street's not exactly one for learning their lessons quick)
To this end, I find it interesting they're starting with SSS. Especially given, to this point, SAC has been an Adult Swim property as airing goes (...I especially find it ironic given last year at AB, Richard Epcar (aka, Batou) unloaded on AS twice over how they've been handling their action titles (more specifically Lupin III.))
Kind of leads one to wonder if he's in a minority or if this is a sign other US distributors are getting annoyed with it as well.

Omg I remember Saturday morning anime.... Wow. Memories. :D
First time I saw Akira it was on there. ^^ Glad they're bringing it back!
I also liked Green Legend Ran and Demon City Shinjuku... Anyone remember seeing those on there?

Can't be any worse than that live action/animated crap they're showing on adult swim. Saul of the Mole Men is plain crap, and its not even a cartoon. In addition Family Guy ran out of material and has spiraled into an abyss of poo. After the 20 minute chicken vs. Peter my immortal soul shreeked out in horror as my consious being realized that I had been robbed of precious time I could never regian. Oh half hour where has thou gone. It was time I could have spent watching a manly cartoon like Fist of the North Star, gimme some exploding heads to quell my anguished spirit.
Hmm, I didn't really like Macross Plus when I first saw it, but I have heard that it is good, so maybe I was too rash in my first judgement on it.

I'll probably watch that at least.
As for Macross plus how can you not like it? It's a timeless cassic with an all-star production team in every aspect. Even the dub is agrred upon being at the very least, good. Its like John Hammond said in Jurassic Park "spared no expense".

Ahh, shoot! Someone reminded me the day SSS aired and I still forgot to watch it. Darn. Oh well. When I first found out a while back that SciFi planned to air anime I was really happy. It's been a long time since there was a halfway decent block besides AS. Anime Unleashed was good a long time ago when TechTV was still TechTV, but G4 gets on my nerves and I have no idea if they even still air Anime Unleashed. In any case, AS could use some competition.

It's awesome that they have Macross Plus because that's the one thing I've been told to watch over and over again xD.

the only time I ever watched TechTV/G4 was for "Robot Wars" and then I turned it off!

Sci-Fi showing Anime again ... soo what; who cares ~_~ I mean, just how many times can you watch Amitage III without thinking your watching Cartoon Networks 50,000 repeats of Sailor Moon's first season before the forgot to finish the series with Sailor Star's -- heck even Cartoon Network got tired of DBZ and THAT was humourous to them

bringing-back the past does not correct removing it in the first place ... they had their chance and they blew-it! I'm gonna start my own TV station and its going to have Anime WeekEnd on Saterday and Sundays -- only the newest releases being dubbed from last weeks episodes [ think it would be worth watching? ]

I think they're trying to cut back on the heivily-anime-centric audience they picked up - or at least that's what their schedualing, program choices, and bumpers made to antagonize anime fans say to me.
