Favorite non-anime cartoon?
Nobody mentioned "The Critic." [/quote]

I didn't think a lot of people remeber that show.

Anyway, there are many non-animes that I like. They are...

1. The Simpsons (of course) :D
2. Family Guy
3. King of the Hill
4. Futurama
5. South Park

As for cartoons that are more light-hearted or childish

1. Courage the Cowardly Dog
2. Spongebob
3. Sonic the Hedgehog (The Saturday morning one)- This one is a standout. It had almost everything. There was action. There was comedy. There was romance. It had a good plot. There was some sentimental moments. There was character developments (I think). This cartoon had almost everything, and it was so beautifully done. Unfortunately, it only lasted two seasons; not enough to truly acknowledge how good it was. Stupid Power Rangers!!!

-If you mean the one with Sally and Antoine and Bunny, and not the one with Scratch and Grounder, then I must agree. I was so sad to see that show go off the air.

They always kill the good ones...

I'd list mine as

(1)Simpsons
(2)Gargoyles
(3)Critic
(4)The Tick
(5)Clerks
(6) Aqua Teen Hunger Force
(7)Sealab 2021
(8)The Oblongs
(9)The good Sonic the Hedgehog
(10)Smurfs

If we can include movies...
(1) Disney's Hunckback of Notre Dame. Except for the comedy relief gargoyles, it was a very powerful movie, I thought.
(2)Little Mermaid (I love her vocals in that movie. Too bad the sequel was horrific)
(3)Lilo and Stitch (more for the characters than the predictable plot)
(4)Antz
(5)Road to El Dorado
Fragile and Frail | Summertime

I'm not a vegetarian because I enjoy eating cute animals.

BEST AMERICAN CARTOONS EVER (not counting CGI):

(1) Exo Squad
(2) Gargoyles (more actors from Star Trek appeared on this show than on any of the actual Star Trek shows, isn't that wierd?)
(3) Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM version)
(4) X-Men (both versions)
(5) The Transformers (G1 only)
(6) Batman (both versions)

The adult comedies (Simpsons, Futurama, Critic, Duckman, Family Guy, etc.) are pretty good too, but nothing next to the kiddie dramas.
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.

Favorite animated series

Post by BishounenStalker » Wed Jan 15, 2003 2:37 pm

If you want to go by the current American definition of anime (literally "Japanese animation"), then almost anything animated today fits the bill. But anyways....

My favorite American, Canadian, or just non-Japanese animated cartoons (in no particular order. Shoot me for some of them, I don't care):

Invader Zim
Invasion America
(was on the WB back in 1998. And they canned it just when it got amazingly good, the bastards)
The Simpsons
TRANSFORMERS! (original G-1, not this Armada bullshit)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (no list would be complete without this classic)
The Pink Panther (before he gained the power of speech)
Looney Tunes/MGM Classics
Tiny Toon Adventures
Animaniacs
Histeria
Courage the Cowardly Dog
ReBoot
Beast Wars
War Planets
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law
G.I. Joe
Exo Squad
Batman: The Animated Series
Beetlejuice
Garfield and Friends
Freakazoid
X-Men
X-Men Evolution
Spiderman and His Amazing Friends
Dino-Riders
C.O.P.S.
The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest (first season only. Second season was a bad dream except for John Delancie as Benton Quest)
Dinosaucers
Tigersharks
Karate Cat
Inspector Gadget (the original animated series, ignore the Godawful movie)
Wallace and Gromit
Housecats (funny as hell animated short. No one here's heard of it I don't think)
The Family Dog

That's what I'm able to come up with offhand without having a 5-miles-long list

Addendum

Post by BishounenStalker » Wed Jan 15, 2003 2:54 pm

Stuff I forgot to add to the list:

Pirates of Dark Water
M.A.S.K.
The REAL Ghostbusters (not that extreme crap or the Slimer show)
Count Duckula
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (classic Chuck Jones)
How the Grinch Grinched the Cat in the Hat
The Lorax (I am The Lorax! I speak for the Trees!)
TaleSpin (We're pirates! Sky pirates!)
Darkwing Duck
Highlander animated series
Ducktales
Goof Troop
Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Dudley Do-Right

Favorite non-anime films:

Secret of NIMH (the original, not the sequel)

The Land Before Time (first one only)
All Dogs Go to Heaven
Rover Dangerfield
Balto
The Prince of Egypt
The Road to El Dorado
Shrek
A Bug's Life
