Probably just my female perspective, but I honestly can't stand Love Hina. The characters annoy the hell out of me (Naru's a bitch. Flat, one-note bitch), and the story went nowhere for more than six episodes. The only thing I see it riding on is the heavily female cast for guys to drool at. It was funny the first couple of time Naru smacked her little dork sky high Akane Tendo-style, but the gag lost its charm real fast. It's yet another ho-hum pussy-boy-surrounded-by-gorgeous-women anime. The only one of that genre I really like is Golden Boy. That one's actually funny. Perverted as all hell, but hilarious.

Well, I certainly wouldn't say it's the best it's pretty darn good! I like Love Hina a lot, particularly the manga. *Dunno why.* The art is great and it's very very funny. I love the different personalities of the characters. There's just one thing I don't like about it, and that's the repetition. Keitaro almost has moment with Naru . . . . interrupted. Fails exam, almost drowns, ends up on a tropical island, etc etc etc. Now I DO realize there are extreme exceptions to this *I'm not saying cuz they're spoilers* but that's all I have to complain about!

Britt: The worst! I was aiming at the horse.

blech...

I used to like Love Hina but the more and more I hear about it [it's getting DBZ'd I tell ya] the less and less I treasure the memories...

And yes, Naru looks better as a rape vicitim (Love Dasi Doujin...) than as Keitaro's wife [cough...]

also, hook up with Mutsumi damnit, she's bigger [in all the good parts a woman should be] and she's smarter [hell, she got the highest score on the entrance exam... just forgot her name... ^_^]

Also, BishounenStalker is right, Keitaro is a freakin' pussy and I CAN'T STAND anime heroes like him these days...

That's why Kei Kusanagi is the man... [he CAN get mad unlike many many other anime loser studs and he's mature enough to NOT get nosebleed AND be married AND have hot mom-in-law AND... (list continues)]

So :p to all you Love Hina psychos, you don't know what ur missing... I saw the whole thing [with oavs and love hina again and what not] and I must say, like Eva, the ending screws itself along with the rest of the anime...

Just my 0.02 and I don't expect too many to agree with me...

Why The Manga Is Better:
- No old men stalking the Hinata Inn mumbling about dreams for no fucking reason.
- No quick-finish ending (Love Hina Again).
- Character developement feels smoother and more explained.

Not saying I hate the anime, just that it could have been MUCH better and that the manga kicks it's ass.
Thank you.

Post subjects are a waste of time

Yeah, the only thing that I don't like about the manga is the decidedly increased amount of paedophilia. Otherwise it just totally rules over the animé.

Beyond the outrageous stuff such as flying turtles, Su's inventions and the like, everything makes sense in the manga, but all of the little changes screw this up in the series. Keitaro with Naru is the only acceptable outcome in the manga (you'd be free to argue that any of the other girls are better, but I don't think that it would work with Keitaro regardless), for one thing, but the animé misses out on a hell of a lot of development between the two of them.

And Keitaro's sure as hell not weak, certainly come the end of the manga. He begins that way, but I guess there'd be no point in character development otherwise. I just find some of his morals questionable, such as 'Naru doesn't like me, so I'll become more and more like the guy she used to like' and 'she said she wanted some space, so I'll chase her to the far side of Japan trying to force this ring on her' =P.
Dead girls don't say no.

I love how the other characters think he's invincible (I know this isn't really what you meant)

8)

Love Hina was the first romance/comedy anime I ever saw and I was hooked. My favorite character is Otohime Mutsumi. I feel Naru was such a bitch because thats how she avoided having to deal with her emotions and having to face her problems. I feel by the end of the series she matures a good bit.

Besides I think they make it pretty apparent that Haruka and Seta were the same way and Naru and Keitaro are following in their footsteps.

I have to disagree the Manga is much more wackable because of the lolicon. The love hina anime is great the Manga is better. I think this is the case with most manga to anime conversions. I cant believe they cut the part where we meet mutsumis mom out of the anime that sucked.
