in the cowboy bebop movie , the jupiter wars are mentioned at different points, by vincent, what does he bescibe the war as?
Okay, first off, it was the Titan Wars, NOT the Jupiter Wars; not even close (Titan's the largest moon around Saturn).

As for how Vincent described the Titan wars (or at least HIS end), it was a battle with no opposing armies, just test subjects for the nano-machine weapons (he was the only survivor). Titan was also the place where Vincent lost two things: 1) his past, and memories of his past, and 2) the vision of countless butterflies (side effect of the nano-machines).

Finally, Hitori REALLY NEEDS to sound off on the Variable Geo question.

Sorry, but I had ISP problems here on my end...

CliffD, you can take the next question as you were the closest one to the answer!

Another Studio Ghibli Question . . . sort of

Post by CliffD » Tue Sep 02, 2003 8:14 am

Okay, starting in 1989 (according to IMDB), a television series based on a popular manga was started. It would only run for about 18 episodes before it got cancelled. But then, it got renewed, and it went on for over 140 more TV episodes, a couple of movies, and several OAV episodes. Somewhere in the middle of the TV run, the author (more-or-less) completed the manga, having published thirty-eight collected volumes.

The series in question (as if you didn't GUESS by now!) is Ranma 1/2.

Now, interestingly enough, ALSO in the year 1989, an animated theatrical feature was being released by Studio Ghibli. (SEE, I TOLD You Folks that it was a Studio Ghibli question!). The film went on to become the #1 Japanese film in the box office of that year.

The film in question is Majo no Takkyubin, also known as Kiki's Delivery Service.

Surprisingly enough, at least FOUR of the regular cast of seiyuu (voice performers) for Ranma 1/2 also lent their vocal talents to Kiki's Delivery Service.

Coincidence? Uh, Yeah, Right, and Pink Floyd really DID create Dark Side of the Moon in sync with The Wizard of Oz. (Still cool when you play it, though!)

The question (FINALLY!!):

Identify TWO of the seiyuu who were both in Ranma 1/2 and Kiki's Delivery Service. Looking for (not necessarily in this order): 1) the Performer's Name, 2) their regular character in Ranma 1/2, and 3) their character in Kiki's Delivery Service.

I know one right off the top of my head, simply because the parallel is quite humorous, but unfortunately don't know any of the others (could take a guess, and may well if it goes for long enough with no answer, but for now I'll wait...).

Re: Another Studio Ghibli Question . . . sort of

Well, it's been 24 (actually, a bit more), and no answer to the first question. So I'll leave the first question up, and post a second question; get either one, you get the thread.

Okay, once again, here's the first question (slightly adjusted to correct a grammatical error on my part; NO CHANGE TO THE ACTUAL QUESTION):
CliffD wrote:Okay, starting in 1989 (according to IMDB), a television series based on a popular manga was started. It would only run for about 18 episodes before it got cancelled. And now the second question, which comes from the TV series Excel Saga.

He MAY BE the Present Head of ACROSS, and the Future Ruler of the World, but IlPalazzo-sama tries to maintain a number of hobbies, such as learning to play guitar, and repeatedly dropping his minion Excel down the Pit. One of IlPalazzo-sama's extracurricular activities is a handheld dating sim called Love Puny. One of the odd things about this game is that, in nearly all of the decision points where the player has to select one of three options, ONE of these options is always the same.

QUESTION: What is this recurring option in the game Love Puny?

Wasn't it stalking?

Sorry, "Stalk Her" is not the recurring option. Although it WAS an option at one of the decision points (what to do w/ Hyatt), "Stalk Her" only appears once.

I'm pretty sure it was "Squeeze," wasn't it?

Hmmm. Wasn't the recurring option along the lines of "Kill her" (referring to Excel, his 'sister' in the game)?

Knowing well that may be wrong, I'll give anyone trying to figure out the original question the info I remember- Sakuma Rei, the Seiyuu for the Nyaanichiuan-cursed (Spring of Drowned Cat- probably butchered the spelling there) Shampoo in Ranma 1/2 also voices Kiki's black cat familiar, Jiji.
