Over-exaggerated, tv doesn't 'butcher' the series. For example WHR, it sucked regardless the form it is in.
Haha! Nope, it's true. Like with Cardcaptors, it started from the fifth episode. And in a later episode when Sakura had to capture a certain clow card, Kiro's explaination on how to capture it changed completely. If the North American version had followed the original dialogue, then Kiro would have explained to Sakura a clow card that she hadn't even captured yet.

Makes sense?

It seems that there are very few major moments, if you can really call them major, that are edited out. I don't really want to mention blood, b/c you have little moments throughout the show where they take out some blood. You notice early in episode 5 when viscious and his men killed all the body guards the hallway is a lot bloodier(if that's a word) in the unedited version. Besides the blood though you have in episode 8 where the two guys are in bed together, well the edited version you only have one guy. The other pretty big one was in episode 12 when you don't happen to notice why faye is so surprised about the guy in the shower. The edited version does happen to crop out his chest. That is the only real major edit i can think of that might have made the story a little weird for people.
And just to comment on the dub, it's awesome and the story is great either way. The best dub ever in my opinion.

I just stay by my claim of any bebop is good bebop and i love seeing it on TV b/c that's how i first saw it and it got me into anime.

And HeartbreakerByZep i'm glad to hear that you like my top 5. Thanks. :D

A fight between Spike and what Gung Ho Gun (Trigun) would be most interesting to see? My vote is for Chapel the Evergreen...

Thanks for the complement Madpierrot anyway hears my top 5
1. Stray Dog Strut
2. Ballad of the Fallen Angels
3. Gateway Shuffle
4. Pierrot Le Fou
5. Speak Like A Child
This is one show were doing any best of list is tough. I mean all 26 episodes were very good.
So far as Bebop on TV goes, I wouldn’t say that it gets butchered. I mean there are some edits but it doesn’t ruin the show. Now Blue Gender theirs a show that gets butchered for TV, if you’ve seen it unedited you know what I mean.

I thought it was so sad when Spike died. I was also sad that Vicious died. Is that weird. :?

Nah, its alright to feel sympathetic to Vicious as well. To me, he's just a bitter man just trying to do what he felt was necessary in order to preserve the Syndicate.
