has anyone read the sess and kagome pairings? I think its just weird because sess is so cold and kagome is really happy-go-lucky with a short temper (well not to short). I just can't see it.

Yes! Finally, someone else who doesn't agree with that pairing! I'm sorry, but I can't stand the Sesshomaru/Kagome pairing. >_< It's...I dunno...too far-fetched for me.

I believe in Gundam Wing, that the creators didnt pair anyone up the obvious way is because they wanted to be realistic. Sure big giant mechs are not realistic, but i believe they dont want this war anime to end up like a lot of other war films that involve love and romance. It screws up the whole theme. Sure, some feeling of love between the GW character do show, but that is as realistic as it goes. In the real world, war is war. And soldiers are meant to fight in them, not fall in love with others while they're in the middle of it. The writers of sappy fics and the likes dont get the point. GW is meant to emphsize the theme of war. War is harsh and evil. But war is also nessesary. The GW characters are there to show the point that war holds no bounds. War change lives and take lives. the emotion of love on the battle means nothing. Love itself can trigger unwanted feelings that will bring upon destruction. Love can wait until after the war is over. That is why GW is like that. But sadly, others perfer GW to end up to be one of those romance films like "All's love and war" or "Pearl Harbor" Movies like "SAving Private Ryan" and "The Thin Red line" shows the truth image of war. And it aint glory and victory....

Actually, the creator of Wing went on record as saying a while back that the reason he didn't put any clear-cut coupling in was because he doubted his own ability to make believable relationships at the time. Bandai, it seems, went along with it since, as they saw it: Sexually ambiguous bishonen = Expanded fanbase = More money (...Hey, I like Bandai, but let's face it, at the end of the day these companies need to get their revenue, don't they?)

Does anyone here write fanfics? Any kind at all.

No i don't make fanfics ... in fact i hate them. When people take somone elses idea and twist it to their liking it bothers me ... plus there are almost no good fan fics out there.

Now if you make up your own story thats loosly based on somone elses work thats a bit different. But when too many similarities start showing up ... it bothers me because it feels like my mental image of the original work is being soiled. Much like running into hentai images of your favorite characters.

Wow, this topic is just an endless cycle, isn't it? Someone asks about fanfics, someone with issues about the meaning of writing and the choices of certain fanfic writers complains, fanfic writters who aren't represented by previous comments complain back, bombs explode, dust settles, someone tries to get back on topic asks about fanfics again, someone ELSE with issues about the meaning of writing and the choices of certain fanfic writers complains, MORE fanfic writters not represented by the other previous comments complain back, MORE bombs explode, MORE dust settles, ANOTHER someone else tries to get back on topic asks about fanfics AGAIN, YET ANOTHER person complains, and the endless cycle continues...

if your talking about me, i didn't flame any one or anything. I answered the original question, which was asking if anyone liked fan fiction. I answered it and gave an explination as to why i don't like them. I named no names, and pointed no fingers. Just stated my opinion.

And i'll be the first to admit that my own writing sucks.

The only fanfiction I ever wrote was for Legend of Zelda: OoT and MM.

Back when I was into fanfics, I wasn't that interested in anime.

I wrote a few Fanfics so far, but for Gundam Wing. I perfer to stay away from yaoi fics, and extremely sappy fics. Those are just not right.
