Worst voices in Anime...

Ugh.... Where do you start?

- Chobits - Sumomo's English VA was horrendous, but the Japanese one was uber-cute.

- Vampire Princess Miyu - TV Series - Miyu and her red-haired friend's English VAs.... damn near nodded off to sleep just thinking back to it! How dull and amateur-sounding can anyone get?

- Bio-Booster Armour Guyver - Original TV series - Mizuki's English VA was very dull and lifeless at times, espcially towards the end. Unless that was intentional to show the trauma of what she'd been through the last few weeks, maybe....

Yuki from Fruits Basket. I thought the English version was a little grating, so I switched to subs for a bit. Then Yuki came on and I switched back to dubs for the rest of the night.

Usagi/Serena--Usagi's voice just grates. She's shrieky in the dub, but it's not nearly as unpleasant as the original. And the dub VA for S and SuperS is bad too--the original English VA suits her quite well though, especially after the first few episodes (granted I haven't watched it in a while, so maybe it's worse than I remember).

Yeah... we waited a lot for Naruto in german TV and... It is really that kind of crap synchro you really want to kill yourself. That is something you can call: terror. First of all they cuted Naruto for 6 year old children and gave it a really bad sync

A lot of the English parts of BECK by the Japanese VA's...though I guess that's more fobby English less voice issues...

Couldn't resist.

wonder if I'll get flamed for this.

But I can't stand Crispin Freeman.

Very first time I heard him was when I was into my first actual anime (other than Sailor Moon and Pokemon), was in Slayers. And he did a great job as Zelgadis. Funny, had the perfect attitude, it was alright.

Shortly after Slayers I discovered Hellsing.

Basically, Hellsing was ruined for me dubbed, because funny spazzy comedy!Zelgadis = pimpin' dark and creepy Vampire!Alucard. Made me laugh and pity my favourite anime character.

And after that, it's revealed that Crispin is flippin' EVERYWHERE. Naruto, Howl's Moving Castle, Chobits, I My Me! Strawberry Eggs, Advent Children, Utena, Kenshin, X/1999, Wolfs Rain, Scrapped Princess . . . a good chunk of the Anime in this house, he's in.

Ooh, found out he's in Angel Sanctuary. Never watching that dubbed either.

'Nuff said.

Hey now, I like Crispin Freeman. I've chatted with him before on yahoo messenger and I rarely see him on now a days.

As for voices I can't stand. Years ago I LOVED Habaine Renmei and then when I later got a freebie disk containing an episode of the series after it was lincensed awhile later I wanted to cry.

The voices didn't match the characters or series, the original Japanese voices matched the somber mood of the anime better.

That I toast too!

I think he's in every anime ever made. I'm serious, ever anime I've seen the dub of his name pops up somewhere, be it a main character or mere background voice.

The English voice of Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket. It sound odd to me... like it doesn't fit her, or something. It's not BAD, it just... doesn't fit her. I prefer her Japanese seiyuu.

Oh, and Shippo's English voice (from Inuyasha) makes me want to rip my teeth out.
