anyone know about what they did to outlaw star? they edited out an entire ep. an ENTIRE ep on CN.
They also edited a lot of Melfina since well...she's nude in that ship tube..thingy. That of course is understandable. As for the episode, that was the best episode in the show :-P

Wufei: I won't quote the entire post, but I agree with the points you make and I guess we'll just have to deal :-P

El Banana: I Believe that's the subtitles for the Chinese LOTR - TTT?
I havent watched CN in a long time, exactly what type of stuff has ben edited out of Eva and Kenshin?
Here is a link to the edits in Eva:

As you can see a lot of violence, but a lot of stupid things too. I remember when they said Eva was going to air unedited too (sigh).

Yes they are, but the site that hosted these went down... I managed to save this little gem of a flame pic... :P
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

yes, this editing does make me angry, thank god I wont be watching CN anytime soon.

What pisses me off is that they decided to show it during Toonami. That's when the 'younger' viewers watch. Now I admit that even on Adult Swim Eva has to be edited, but I wouldn't mind it quite as much because at least then you're showing it to the appropriate age group. Now you've shown an UBBER edited version of Evangelion to a bunch of kids. Do you realize how much of a fit will be thrown when the kiddies want to go buy this and the parents watch it and... DAMN our tight ass standards and closed-mindedness!!

Well we do live in a country where cartoons are for children only right? I don't think things will ever change until this incorrect generalization that animation can only tell simple stories and requires no more than 30 minute attention span (vs. a 26 episode epic). Perhaps it'll happen one day, but don't hold your breath :)

(rant)On a related side-note, do you guys remember when Fox showed Escaflowne? Escaflowne is my favorite show and they marketed it as a "go buy merchandise" kiddie show (which it's not). :( Not surprised it only went 9 episodes (more like 8 since they cut the entire first episode). That'll happen when you cut out the story, characters (which is what makes it wonderful) and even the music. Wanna talk about bad edits, this is up there although it's no Warriors of the Wind. (/rant)

by younger viewers what do you mean jimma. i mean i think i'm one of the younger viewers compared to people on these forums but i don't really believe in appropriate age groups. i mean i basically think the entire rating system is faulty. hell i've seen movies with both female and male genetalia (not pornography) when i was about 12. age shouldn't be used as some sort of excuse in terms of whether or not it is viewable. the only people who do have a problem with them are the parents. i realize i think that you meant the same thing as i just mentioned but then you also said that adult swim is for the appropriate age groups so i guess i was thrown. sorry if i'm misinterpreting your post.

yeah i remember when they did that on fox. i was so stoked and i was really enjoying it but after something like what 8 episodes they stopped it. i felt like strangling those fox bastards. i mean if those were badly edited than i guess i'm really going to have to buy the series then. what is the warriors of the wind? Sayonara.

If you really enjoyed it butchered, you definitely will enjoy it unedited and subtitled. Fox effectively took out the entire story (which is great), the character devleopment and most of the action. It is my favorite show for a reason :).

Warriors of the Wind is an 80's hacked-up version of Miyaaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I highly recommend staying clear of it.

oh well i wouldn't worry about that i own a copy of the original japanese version one of my aunts sent me along with laputa. but besides those i have the studio gibli collection so i have them and i can actually understand what they're saying, just a few probs with the subtitles but still good. so warriors of the wind was a screwed version of nausicaa? i thought that the screwed version was 7 days of fire because i remember renting it from hastings before. oh well it doesn't really matter now, i have the good stuff now.

Yeah it was Warriors of the Wind. If I'm not mistaken they cut an entire 30 minutes too.

Good good, now you just gotta watch Escaflowne :). I almost guarantee it's enjoyment :).
