Well said.Arigatomyna wrote:Anime isn't real. Men and women who just happen to be attracted to the same sex are - big difference to me. Anime is.

Not that I really think it's relevant. I'm afraid my feelings toward 'yaoi' in anime doesn't equate to my feeling towards real life homosexuality any more than my feelings toward het in anime relates to my feelings toward it in real life. Hazarding a wild guess on the first part:
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and the T I'm guessing is Transexual (although there's a voice in the back of my head that keeps thing it could be transvestite...)
Otherwise, good way of looking at the situation

Transsexual is the most common, Transgendered also fits and it's a broader term, it basicly comes down to politically correct (Or anal retentive) you want to be. There seems to be nothing but smaller and smaller groups constantly trying to invent newer, overly specfic terms, so as to ruin everyone's lives.Heero_Yuy84 wrote:Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and the T I'm guessing is Transexual (although there's a voice in the back of my head that keeps thing it could be transvestite...)

Transvestite is someone who dresses like the opposite sex. I think. Trans for "cross" and "vest" as in vesta which, I believe, means clothing. Someone please correct my Latin.Heero_Yuy84 wrote:Hazarding a wild guess on the first part:

Yup, that's right. With the psycological diagnosis discription of, 'One who dresses as a member of the opposit sex for temporar sexual or emotional satisfaction.'flint_the_dwarf wrote: Transvestite is someone who dresses like the opposite sex. Wrong, Trans-gender is a very broad umbrella term, you're thinking of Transsexual. Transgender covers... *things* Transsexuals, Transvestites and... well, I could list about 20 other specfic terms, but it'd make my stomach hurt with all that PC crap.Arigatomyna wrote:Transgender means someone who gets their body changed into the opposite sex (usually called transexual).

*reads* Yeah, I figured that voice in the back of the head was prob. wrong...my bad on that one (...then again, the voice in the back of the head's been losing a lot of its reliability of late...)
(...OK...sorry for the rambling...just felt the need to apologize for the screwup (esp. since now it appears that might have triggered a whole new can of worms...))

Somehow, I'm sure this thread won't be modded. We'd never let something like this happen at Demonseal. I would've been all over this thread.Arigatomyna wrote:Either way, I don't think this discussion (or that pic up) belong in this thread. It doesn't pertain to anime unless we're going to talk about La Blue Girl or the crossdresser in Angel Sanctuary.
