Dragonball Z is NOT a filler anime.. nothing really lasts that long until the fights anyway.. plus by adding episodes that were never in the manga it only adds to the development of the characters.. (ok, except the Garlic Jr. saga, that can just disappear..lol!)
And they arnt fighting....when? oh during the filler, i get it! :/

You make some good points, most of which I agree with. In my comparison, It wasn't trying to say they were even alike content wise. Simply that both adults and children can enjoy it, despite it's young target audience.

and in response to Mitsuka, while I agree that most Cartoons don't go anywhere episodically..You must admit, X-men did have a story.

That is so wrong in so many ways.
Whatever, you guys took it the wrong way. Anime is so complicated that kids wouldn't get it anyway..

Dragonball Z is a beautiful anime, and it's for adults..

LMAO.

Can you imagine if the human race were to perish, and the only evidence of our existence was a DBZ dvd?

LOL. These Damn upstart females! Shonen anime is for GUYS!
Actually, there are a lot more women on this site than you might think (its hard to tell by the avatars). I heard a statistic a few years back that a majority of anime fans are female, and when I went to an animecon last year it was nearly 50/50.

My god, you really believe that kids dont understand anime? Why do you think tons and i meen *tons* of them run home after school and flip on cartoon network? Its true that many anime may not be able to be grasped by some childern, but DBZ is obviously not one of them. Because it has such a simple plot and characters, childern can understand it and follow it. You can believe what you want, but im pretty sure that the hundreds of thousands of kids that watch anime understand it, if they didnt, why would they watch it? o_O

Im not trying to attack your personal opionion tword DBZ, everyone has their own opionion. Its just that saying "anime if for adults and kids dont understand it" is incredibly wrong :/

Dragonball characters...simple..? Oo don't say that to me. *coughs out the anger* lol!! True, kids can understand the plot of Dragonball Z, but that doesn't make it for children either way. Kids can understand Ranma 1/2 and many other anime too, so I guess that makes them all for children eh?..-_- lol!

Like I said back before, everyone can enjoy Dragonball Z, especially adults.. ignore my two "kids" posts.. I was getting angry.. lol.

"anime is for adults and kids dont understand it" Yeah, I take that back, kids CAN understand most anime..

Kids can understand Evangelion. Know how many Evangelion fans saw the series at age 11-14? Tons of them that I know of. And no, they didn't misinterperate the whole thing, they where pretty much intellectualized by it. Damn FUNimation and their watering down of things. :P DBZ rules. I don't see why someone would be so wacky that they'd think it's crap or something. It's a very well put together show.
