Cosplayed once as Akuma. Since I never have anytime to make my own costumes, I asked someone to do it for me. This wasn't a good thing for two reasons. One, the outfit was made larger than I had asked it to be, and two, I asked for the costume maker to design a wig for me, which never happened. The only other problem is that I certainly don't have the same physical build as any one like Akuma, but I still had a good time doing it. A couple people took my picture and commented on how they liked the look of the necklace I was wearing (38mm wooden beads by the way). I plan to cosplay again soon, and hopefully it shouldn’t be too much of a problem to have someone make one for me this time around. All I really need is a wig and some leather gloves, the rest I can get at any men's clothing store.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

I cosplay!
I don't do skits and I haven't entered the masquerade/cosplay contests yet, and I probably won't
but ACen 2k5 back in may I went as Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi in the Suzaku no Miko dress, however, I did not have a crown...still working on trying to figure out how to make it myself ^.^;

Cosplaying 5 years running! Cosplay is great, you get a lot of attention (unless your at Otakon with 22000 other cosplayers), glomps, coments, and photos. I'm a camera whore Here's my gallery! http://images.cosplay.com/gallery.php?member=31796
So far I've done:
Rock (Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis)
Sephiroth (FF7)
No Face (Spirited Away)
Decoe (Sonic X)
Ky (Di Gi Charat
and for next year I plan on doing Gargoyle (Nadia)
Concerning wether you look like your character, if your character wears a a mask then you don't need to. I look nothing like No Face, but I just stuck a head to a pole and strapped it to my back!
If your not going to wear a mask, then yea, I think you should. If I cosplay a character without a mask, I always have to go for characters with glasses, cus I can't remove mine (for Rock I wear those big ass sunglasses over my glasses and for Sephiroth I went blind; will never do again )
Now for the stigma of cosplaying, people generally cosplay for cons, and at most cons, about 60% of ppl are cosplaying, so you really don't get picked out. However, if your taking your giant golden robot suit to Food Lion to grab some Egg Nog between panels, you may get a few stares (an employee brought me engine oil for laughs). Or even worse, if your wearing an arm band and your stopping for gas. (I was wearing my Ky costume and had to stop for gas, some guy called me a nazi)
Cosplaying is fun, but a really dorky hobby. But then, if you are Otaku, you already are most likely a high level nerd. [/url]

Yes
I cosplay alot,and sometimes go to conventions. At first my costums sucked. Looked really bad. But there in proving...I think. Most of the time i just go as Ed from Cowboy Bebop. I can even carry stuff on the top of my head like her.(Computrs,mellons) 1 thing that i dont like about going as Ed is the pants.There really tight. Once at anime-con (2001 I think) I went as her and droped my computer of my head. So i bend over to pick it up and(RRRRIIIIPPPPPP) the shorts or pants rip. THEY PRETTY MUCH FELL OF ME.MEGA EMBBASING!!! My stuiped freinds wont stop laughing, and the line for the bathroom was like a mile long!!!!! My Freinds took all kinds of photos which they use for blackmail now. IM SO MAD!!!! Well,Later
