Okay, since the first one was NOT Trigun (which would have been a good guess), I'm going to take a stab at Tenshi Ni Narumon (I'm Gonna Be An Angel!) for the first quote.

Second one I'm thinking either Puni Puni Poemi or Zatch Bell (That does sound like something Susume would say)
