Sorry, it isn't Metropolis. Still open.

I'll repost, and also add a second quote from the same anime (NOTE: the second quote is COMPLETELY UNRELATED to the slogan).

Repost of the slogan --
Okay, this isn't really a quote -- it's a slogan that you can (almost *) read a number of times in this anime.

NO CONQUEST WITHOUT LABOR!

This quote, as mentioned above, is in the same anime, and is spoken in English **:

U.S. Officer 2 (Lieutenant?): Everything is prepared, sir.
U.S. Officer 1 (Colonel): Very well. Let's pull out.
U.S. Non-Com: Aye, aye, sir!

* emphasis on "almost" as it is written in a highly stylized and peculiar script -- yet it is recognizable as English, even though everyone's speaking in Japanese.

** the dialogue is on the original Japanese language track IN heavily-accented English. AFAIK, there has never been a full English dub of this anime.

Hmm, in that case, the only one that comes to mind is Stink Bomb, part 2 of the anime movie "Memories"

...!

OH SONUVA...! OH YOU SNEAK! The slogan is from part 3, CANNON FODDER! Same anime, different parts! SNEAKY!

You sneaky bastard! All that info you provided helped put the pieces in place!

Alrighty then... if you can be sneaky, then let's see what I can come up with!

Alright, here's what I'm going to do.

The following four quotes are from different sources. Only ONE is actually from an anime!

Quote 1:

"Hey! Hey, I'm talking to you cow! You know if it weren't for me you'd all be French right now! Shame on you, ungrateful cow!"

Quote 2:

"MISERABLE Cow! It will take me WEEKS to rebuild that!"

Quote 3:

"I always buy cow brand milk."

Quote 4:

"We are NOT taken in! We did not lose a wishy-washy cow like this!"

Now here are the rules:

1) To get this answer correct, AT THE MINIMUM, you must:
a) Identify the correct quote from the correct anime.
b) Tell me who said it.
c) Scenario WHEN the person said it.

2) If someone can tell me where I got the FAKE quotes, using the same three criteria above, then I will give whoever answers the right quote correctly AND names the most fake quotes correctly the thread.

3) I will give 24 hours for this quote. Whoever at the end names the correct anime quote and the most fake quotes correctly will win! HOWEVER, if someone is able to answer ALL FOUR quotes correctly before 24 hours is up, the thread automatically goes to them.

GOOD LUCK!

And now for something... completely different:

"Who would have thought that a bag of beef could be so useful!?"

I want to say this was when Mima was reading in Perfect Blue on the computer, about herself in 'Mima's Room'. The quote is the third one, and was posted by the stalker, as given by her psycho agent, yes?
Now, don't feel bad. It's not you, it's me. I Don't Like You. -.-

That IS correct! You meet the minimum requirements to pass!

The correct answer is the 3rd quote:

A) The anime is Perfect Blue
B) Mima is the one who said it
C) She said it because she was reading a very detailed description about her daily life on a fansite made by a rather obsessive fan.

HOWEVER, even though you have named the correct quote, there are still at least 5 hours remaining for anyone to build upon your answer and give me the correct one AND the fake quotes!

Successfully answer as many as you can to win! This quote contest will end at 2 PM Eastern time!

HOWEVER, to help with the quotes, here is A HINT:

*Two of the fake quotes are taken from video games, while one quote is taken from an American animated series*

GOOD LUCK!

~Otaku-Man

P.S. If no one gives me any of the fake quotes by 2 PM, the thread is Millenear's once I post the answers.

It's been over three days with no new quotes, so here's one to get this thread kick-started again.

In response to his son's question on why he has to study

Father: Studying is not about what's useful or not. The studying that seems useless may turn out to be useful. On the other hand, it might be that studying that doesn't seem not useful may not be, but then studying that seems useless may then be useful. But when you really need it, it's not about useful or useless . . .

Mother (who's been listening to all of this): What are you going on about?

Son: So I still have to study.

HINT: This is for an anime that is not out in the US YET (stress YET).

Thank God! I was actually wondering when someone was going to pull this back up since I didn't want to double post.

I have NO idea which anime that is, but I might as well give the answers to my FAKE Quotes, so here they are:

Quote 1:

"Hey! Hey, I'm talking to you cow! You know if it weren't for me you'd all be French right now! Shame on you, ungrateful cow!"

a) This quote is from Psychonauts
b) The person who says this is Raz
c) After completing the level "Waterloo World", return to the level and shrink down onto the game board. You will notice several "Cow" game pieces. Go up to one and start talking to it. Continue talking to hear this quote.

Quote 2:

"MISERABLE Cow! It will take me WEEKS to rebuild that!"

a) This quote is from Justice League Unlimited
b) The person who says this is Lex Luthor
c) In the episode Panic In The Sky, Lex Luthor is just about to finish completing a robot to transplant his brain into so he can obtain immortality. Amanda "The Wall" Waller busts in and destroys the robot using a matter defusion ray that Lex patented himself. Quite miffed about it, Lex yells this quote to Waller.

Quote 3:

"I always buy cow brand milk."

See above post.

Quote 4:

"We are NOT taken in! We did not lose a wishy-washy cow like this!"

a) This quote is from Katamari Damacy
b) The person who says this is The King of All Cosmos
c) In the level where you have to build the constellation Taurus, the level ends the instant you pick up ANYTHING cow related. Upon grabbing a small or medium sized cow (the exact specifics escape me at the moment), the King says this when he claims this is not the cow that they were looking for.

Now that that's out of the way, on with the regular trivia! Guess my experiment didn't pan out the way I hoped!

Well, I may be early (around 20 hours early), but I decided to post a second quote from the same anime.

FIRST QUOTE:
In response to his son's question on why he has to study

Father: Studying is not about what's useful or not. The studying that seems useless may turn out to be useful. On the other hand, it might be that studying that doesn't seem not useful may not be, but then studying that seems useless may then be useful. But when you really need it, it's not about useful or useless . . .

Mother (who's been listening to all of this): What are you going on about?

Son: So I still have to study.

SECOND QUOTE:
Same Mother as above trying to change the channel to a movie she want's to watch (she's got the remote). Same Father as above trying to keep the TV on the game (he's got a newspaper). Side-comments from the hallway where they are being observed:

Daughter: Now nobody can watch.

Grandmother: This is much more fun.

SAME HINT: These are for an anime that is not out in the US YET (stress YET).
