What they should do is drop the name, characters and meaning altogether and just kkep the theme of three big robots controlled by kids stopping the world from destruction by things from space. Then they could make a cool action movie with as many cool effects as possible and whatever casting they wanted and it would still look cool and not offend and they wouldn't have to worry about time constraints. People who want the meaning and the original representation of the characters can go and watch the anime.

What I love NGE and as a result know that live action 3 hour movie format would not do it justice. Watch the anime it is how it should be. For movies people want fast, furious action with cool looking shit. People will want sci-fi, they will want action, they will not want philosophy and whiny kids. I think it would be a cool movie with the three robots killing big shit idea and they wouldn´t have to worry about defacing something everybody likes because it won´t be the same.

you have no idae all that we even know is what other people have told us it is VERY possible to make the movie good it is also just as possible to fuck it up

That is actually a good idea in the aspect of keeping a good name for NGE, but some do want to see it in a movie no matter what
