AIR TV- that show confused me, I wasn't sure if the perfect summer was the main story or if it was that guy who was trying to stop that curse or whatever, either way only one of the objectives was accomplished while the other ended in a cliffhanger
Pokemon-It's the same thing over and over again main character travels and wins battles, main character always loses championships.
GITS-SAC- *falls asleep*......*wakes up* It did have a great soundtrack to it and the 2nd gig was way better
Anything 4kids touches
x/1999 or whatever it was called-*twitches*[/b]

My 5 favourite animes are:
Blue Gender
As one of the first animes i watched it almost put me off for life. The main character does nothing but cry and pee in his pants, and the story was boring and predictable. It could have easily fit into 3 eps, but they dragged it on to 24.
Noir
Another of the same. Boring, predictable story until maybe the last 4 eps, nothing really ever happened and the animation wasn't good.
Berserk
Having read up to vol 30 of the manga, watching this was awful. About one chapter of one volume gets drawn out over 5 or 6 eps. And the anime wasn't finished. Right when the real story starts in the manga, the anime ends.
Evangelion
Was dying to watch this after all the hype - only to find the plot stupid and meaningless. It irritated me how bad the animation was - i mean a 5 minute conversation between characters with only their silhoettes and the backround never even moved. There were so many reused scenes too. And it was like they couldnt be bothered to write a decent ending, they just jumbled everything up into one giant mess and threw it out to the public.
X
The animation was lovely but the story was lame. At least build up some sort of relationship with the characters before killing them all off. And im sorry, its a lame kind of story where more than 10 people (main characters) die before the series ends. What the hell is the point of that? Not to mention you dont even have a chance to even properly learn the person's name before they die...

Akira was a milestone not just for anime, but for all of animation. The film had over 160,000 animation cells, and had nearly perfect lip-synch dialogue. It set the stage for many later shows, which is why i would never put it on my worst videos list. Most of the animes you watch today had to have been influenced by its animation, one way or another. Evangelion was infamous for its symbolism and its character development, remodeled the whole mecha genre, and is still a major influence in many contemporary animes. Just cause they're popular doesn't mean their crappy you know, and the influence goes beyond that of many other shows. The same could be said of the DB franchise, despite its deterioration in later seasons.

I don't think I can come up with 5 that deserve to be on my "least favorite" list... but I will say that after reading the incredible X, and then seeing the great TV adaptation, the movie was just... how shall I put this... bad in ways that can't be described adequately with the space alloted a Russian novel. I feel dirty just talking about it...

Akira was a good anime. I remember watching it when I was first getting into anime/manga and liking it. But I can see why people would dislike it.Caramel wrote:Akira was a milestone not just for anime, but for all of animation. I remember being in college and going to some snooty anime group on campus. they were watching Akira, and asked people to raise their hands if they hadn't seen it. Then they said, "You're not going to understand it the first time. No one does."
Which is all BS, of course. Reason being that you cannot understand the movie if you haven't first read the manga. It's not hard to understand, it's impossible to understand because they give you a stripped-down version of the manga that really doesn't make much sense.
When I went back and read the manga, I suddenly realized that the movie was too short to do anything but pay homage to the manga. There are countless examples of this:
*Spoilers*
-Lady Miyako is reduced from a primary character (and my favorite character, incidentally), to the leader of a crazy apocalypse cult with a 10-second cameo.
-We meet the living Akira in the middle of the manga, while in the movie he's already dead.
-The entire background of the project is never adequately explained.
-Etc., etc., etc...
*End Spoilers*
Anyway, while I realize the movie is a milestone in animation, it just falls so far short of the manga, it's hard not to be disappointed (and horribly confused).

Psssh. Do we go from #1 least favorite first or not?.. Ah forget it.
1.Pokemon- Do I need to explain? Its like Walmart. Its evil and never stops, its everywhere...
2.Lies and Kisses- Please explain how this is not nasty... stunning drawings, amazing. But.. God it just has this part that creeps me out.
3.Inuyasha- Repeats and nobody ever loses...
4.Yu-Gi-Oh!- God forbid us.... I hate this! Why did they have to make this crappy show that is very different from the original??!!! I don't know why...
5.Avatar- ITS NOT A FREAKING ANIME!! America is horrible for trying to copy the anime style and trying to draw the american viewers away from anime!

Hnn my five least favorite anime's huh?
Well lets see--
5. Vampire Princess Miy- I lovethe oldschool a manga as well as the OVA. >.> But the TV Series? It's the same thing over and over and ovar and over again for 21 eppisodes straight.
4. Samurai Champloo- >.> I don't know why this onebothers me really. It just does. Perhaps it is because of how uterly drawn out it sees to be. Most of the storyline is predictable and I'm sure it could have been cut half its orriginal length. >.> I'm also not much of ahip hop fan which may contribute.
3. Gensomaden Saiyuki/ Saiyuki Reload/ Saiyuki Gunlock- >>. Yes I know. Looking at my name you would think me to be he ultimate Saiyuki fan. but the animes don't seem to give the manga justice what-so-ever. Gensomadens preportions and animatio were horrible. And while in Reload and Gunlock the animation had inproved drastically, the new voices in the dubs sucked and the whole attitude of the story canged into a cheesy cheerful kids show. >.> I look back at he manga and cry whe I think about the anime which seems to make it "so television friendly" that it seems to cut out almost everything importent concerning the storyline.
2. Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone Complex - The movies are absoluty amazing in my oppinion. But the television series? Yeesh. What amazing action the movies have contained, the series do lack. I mean the majority of the series concerns the group of them standing around and talknig seriously to one another. >.> I just couldn't stay awake none the less involved int he series enough to see if anything interesting happens.
1. Naruto- >.> TO be perfectly honest I agree with most people upon saying its far to overly franchised for my liking. I had read the first two volumes of the manga a year before the anime cam eto america and found it semi-enjoyable. >.. But the anime... the characters remain pretty linnear. Especially the females. >.> There's just something about them that really tics me off. They're so very... shallow.

Eva-I will never get the hype over this series its a bunch of psychobabble and emo whining. The only plus to it is that the chicks are hot.
Neia under 7-Ok you have to put up with some crap but the story is buliding up up Oh no crashes hard with a retarded ending. Worst 250 bucks I ever spent.
Zatch bell-Retarded simply retarded
Gravitation-If I see one more pic of this Gay ass anime I'll throw up.
Zeta gundam--Horrible horrible series makes the first one look awesome.

1. Berserk - something that i don't like jsut by seeing some amv's and pictures.
2. Saint Beast - that's just too boring and something like shounen-ai anime.. i really don't like to watch that kind of relationships...
3. Trinity Blood - too much blood and completely making no sense.
4. RahXephon - man that's really something that's hard to understand
5. Samurai Girl-Real Baout High School - that makes completely no sense, and has no meaning (i mean defeating the main enemy who just show himself in last episode and saving the whole world? that's just doesn't seems like something worth watching to me...)
that would be all.
